Once again…allow me to geek out for a bit…
(SPOILERS FOR “THE DARK KNIGHT” IN THE BODY OF THIS POST — NO WORRIES AFTER THE JUMP.)
Now that the record-breaking hysteria has (somewhat) subsided regarding “The Dark Knight,” I thought I’d take a moment to forecast the third installment (and perhaps future installments) of Christopher Nolan’s franchise.
First thing’s first. What to call the next film? Ideas bounced around by fans have included tips of the hat to other aspects of the universe (“Batman Beyond,” “The Dark Knight Returns,” etc.). My personal hope was always that the Dark Knight moniker would somehow be a part of the franchise, and thankfully, they went there with the second installment.
I kind of think taking Frank Miller’s title for part three would be brilliant (especially considering the nature of the final moments of “The Dark Knight”). But the answer here would, of course, have everything to do with the content of the film.
At this point, we don’t have a clear idea of what to expect from the next film. “Batman Begins” scribe David Goyer (who shares a story credit on “Knight”) formulated the blueprints for a trilogy with Nolan at the outset, and we’re pretty sure Two-Face was supposed to play a considerable role in the next phase. Despite all the chatter that would have you believe Harvey Dent is dead at the end of “Knight,” that early talk of Aaron Eckhart’s contract being for two films couldn’t have been coming from thin air.
Beyond that, the wonderful thing about the Batman mythos is that there is an array — a “rogues gallery” — of villains to choose from. And certainly, there are seven decades of story development to glean for a solid denouement to the trilogy.
The Riddler is staring everyone in the face as the most likely possibility. And I really like the idea of handing it over to the character of Coleman Reese (as mentioned by one of our readers last week). Christopher Nolan is supposedly not a fan of the Penguin, and we all want Catwoman to pop up somehow. But that’s a whole other can of worms.
If I had my druthers, I’d introduce the Riddler and the Penguin (as a mafia figure…nothing major), with Two-Face running rampant as the most dangerous aspect of the trio. But as I said (and we all know), any combination is possible.
So with that, below you’ll find my personal casting call for the potential rogues we could see in a third film or even future installments of a franchise that could go from here to eternity. Of course, we won’t be seeing all of these cats pop up, but the sky is the limit with this universe.
Here’s my perspective…
THE RIDDLER: Christopher Meloni
Most seem to think this is the next element of the rogues gallery to be a thorn in the Batman’s side. Frank Gorshin originated the role in the old television series. John Astin also played his hand at the part on screen and Jim Carrey, of course, channeled the former in his “Batman Forever” portrayal. I’ve always felt like Christopher Meloni (of television’s “Oz” and “Law & Order: SVU”) had a certain appeal to carry across the king of conundrums. Perhaps it stems back to that hilarious “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” cameo. Of course, the role shouldn’t be dominated by humor, but the right touch helps and I think Meloni has that in spades.
THE PENGUIN: Bob Hoskins
As noted, it has been said that Christopher Nolan isn’t a big fan of the Penguin. I can’t verify that, however, I can say it would be a shame to exclude him from the proceedings. The Penguin (a.k.a. Oswald Cobblepot) isn’t one of my favorites, but his popularity nonetheless skyrocketed after Burgess Meredith gave the character flight in the old television series. And Tim Burton’s Danny DeVito vision of the role is a nice Elseworlds touch, but hardly practical. The Penguin has always been better suited on the outskirts, as a mafia figure…but a dangerous one. With that in mind, no one seems better-suited to the umbrella-toting baddie than the great Bob Hoskins.
CATWOMAN: Milla Jovovich
You can’t be obvious here. You just can’t. Halle Berry seemed like a good choice until that wretched beast of a film unfurled, and similar (obvious) picks like Eva Mendes and Angelina Jolie have been suggested as well. I like Den of Geek’s pick of Tilda Swinton because it takes the character in the appropriately oddball direction for the current franchise. But I wouldn’t buy the romance with Bruce Wayne, and that is integral. With that in mind, and tackling possibly the toughest casting decision of the lot, I would certainly buy into Wayne having a freaky, twisted sort of obsession with Milla Jovovich. It has to be someone whose eyes could melt the soul and the heart.
MR. FREEZE: Patrick Stewart
We would all like to forget Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrayal of Dr. Victor Fries in the abominable “Batman & Robin.” Otto Preminger, George Sanders and Eli Wallach each left something to be desired on the tube version of the role. But Mr. Freeze is, to my mind, one of the classic and imminently doable villains of the Bat universe. Christopher Nolan has proven he can make anything seem realistic or reasonable, has he not? With all that in mind, I think I side with the fans on this one. Patrick Stewart would be the perfect choice to carry Fries out of his own despair and tragedy and onto the screen as a formidable foe for the Batman.
POISON IVY: Vera Farmiga
Most agree that the one thing remotely redeemable about “Batman & Robin” was Uma Thurman’s delicious (if far from faithful) depiction of Poison Ivy. In a franchise some think lacks the right feminine touch (and with Rachel Dawes proving to be a weak link twice), Mr. Nolan may look to expand his sights to the ladies of Batman’s rogues gallery. Ivy has always been a diabolical choice in that vein and the role needs an actress who can seem relatively lovely but with that right touch of icy vengeance underneath. “The Departed” and “Nothing But the Truth” star Vera Farmiga certainly seems to have that quality and would fit in with the most talented of casts.
THE VENTRILOQUIST: Stephen Tobolowsky
This is a character the filmmakers could easily take or leave. There is an element of ridiculousness at play that could be less than enticing, but personally, I’ve always thought the terrifying Scarface was a wonderfully maniacal element in the mafia underbelly of Gotham City. In the Ventriloquist, Scarface’s chubby and silent sidekick, you would need an actor capable of being at once ambiguous and unsettling. Considering Nolan has worked with Stephen Tobolowsky in the past (2001’s “Memento”), perhaps his casting would work out. There’s something eerily appealing about the actor. And he could slip into the background well enough. I’d love to see him in the franchise.
DICK GRAYSON/NIGHTWING: James McAvoy
Wrapping things up, I want to address the Dick Grayson issue again. I’m already on the record as saying that it would be a shame to disregard the potential for this character as a way to bridge two franchises. I won’t bother kicking around ideas for a younger Grayson (a.k.a. Robin) because selecting child actors is a fickle thing. It’s probably best to seek out an unknown. But in James McAvoy, I get the sense that filmmakers on this franchise could find a goldmine of potential. The actor seems quite capable of bulking up and taking on the psychological balance of Grayson as Nightwing, a foil of sorts for the ever unbalanced Bruce Wayne/Batman and the key to making this franchise about much, much more.
There are obviously many other characters from the Bat universe which Nolan and company could work into the fabric of their vision of the character. Killer Croc can work. Clayface can work. Black Mask can obviously work. Anything, really, can work. It’s all about finesse and tweaking to slide them comfortably into the hyper-reality of the franchise. However, I steered clear of offering up casting decisions because they are three particularly vague entities that could be represented by any number of gifted actors.
Meanwhile, there is the ever-expanding array of side characters that might be introduced. Anarky, David Cain, Deadshot, Lady Shiva, Harley Quinn, etc. More doable, real-world-rooted characters could include Hugo Strange, Rupert Thorne, Talia al Ghul (THIS would be fun), hell, even KGBeast. Tons to choose from. And nary an ill-advised path. Only ill-advised filmmaking choices, of which Nolan hasn’t exactly proven himself to be capable thus far with this franchise.
Obviously I’m excited. But tell us what you think.
Who would you cast in the roles of Batman’s vast gallery of villainy?

I want to comment on your Riddler, Penguin, and Tw0-Face trio suggestion. While I agree in spirit that it would be fascinating to see all those different characters in Nolan’s world, I’d want to avoid too many villains at once. It seems eons ago that Spider-Man 3 had us oozing with excitement over the possibility of Venom, Sandman, and Harry’s becoming the new Green Goblin. We (or maybe just I, to each his own) all know how that turned out: too little time to develop any of them and a disaster of a movie.
Perhaps a brainstorm or two later I’ll be able to throw in my own casting choices for these villains, but for now that’s something that jumped out at me.
Agreed partially, Martin. But I think the Penguin could serve a similar role in the third film as Sal Maroni did in The Dark Knight, and not be in the way. Splitting time between Riddler and Two-Face (and avoiding Batman Forever parallels) would be tricky. But I think it could be done.
*spoils for Dark Knight and vague spoils Dark Knight Returns*
here’s what i think: you can’t really top the Joker because he’s so perfectly the opposite of Batman. i think the Nolans should end it with a version of Dark Knight Returns. Batman being retired for a long time at the start makes total sense, and you could theoretically get away with recasting the Joker because he’s aged as well in prison. finally, you have Batman vs. Superman. i know it doesn’t quite jibe with the universe Nolan has created, but if he could make it work it would be a great progression to an even more powerful foe, and a fantastic, tragic end for the series.
i’d like to see Sarah Michelle Gellar play a villain. Harley, Ivy, even Catwoman…
I’ve always liked the idea of the Mad Hatter, Johnny Depp would be perfect.
Deadshot and Hush would be AMAZING. They also both seem to fit perfectly into the existing playing-field. I’d also LOVE to see The Riddler but the idea of villains yet seen on screen is such an awesome opportunity that i hope they dont pass up!
I’d really like to see Harley Quinn actually. The only reason I say that is because I feel like the Joker has more to do and that could be by manipulating his doctor at Arkham and having her do his biddings on the outside. Otherwise i found Vera Farmiga interesting as Ivy, Hoskins an given for Penguin. Totally disagree with Jovovich though. I just don’t think she can act. Catwoman is an interesting prospect that I think needs to be handled pretty carefully. Pfeiffer was perfect for Burton’s film but Nolan’s is so much more real. I have yet to hear a real solid idea for Riddler, but i just recently watched Sleuth, and i think Nolan’s Riddler would make sense to be somewhat reminiscent of Olivier’s Andrew Wyke in Sleuth. I’ve been trying to think of someone who could play that man who is obsessive with his sadistic mind games and yet funny. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Olivier Sleuth comparison
Also as far as Robin goes, I think it could do a lot for the Character of Bruce Wayne; but very weary of a storyline that does’nt immediately lead to camp. Also casting fear
What about the Joker?
If I was forced to go there, Jude Law. But really, no comment.
After The Dark Knight I don’t think you can really replace the Joker, but the anarchy that the Joker brings to Gotham can live on. I do think, whether intentional or not to have his death be ambiguous, that killing the bad guy like in every other movie would have been besides the point of the character, who seems to be almost beyond the realm of death. Makes sense for him to arrive without a trace and leave the same way. For this reason, they could easily acknowledge the Joker’s influence while making the third film not be The Dark Knight: 2, and casting an actor that can’t live up to the portrayal seen in The Dark Knight.
I like the idea of the Riddler, but not really That Guy From Law and Order playing him. Guy Pearce from Memento perhaps. Catwoman would also be a welcome addition. Maybe Cate Blanchett because she’s like Swinton but less weird looking, or Emily Blunt since they were going to cast her as Rachel.
Most of your choices conform to the same way fans have picked the villians: pick someone who looks the part, worry about their skills and true appropriateness for the role.
Nolan has not approached casting that way. Ledger was not a popular choice for the Joker. The fans were picking people with some kind of big smile (like they did with Jack in the first Batman). Nolan’s going to pick good actors, first and formost. That being said, I think Vera Farmiga is the only realistic actor on the list… but I could see her as Catwoman or Ivy. She’s a phenenomenal actress.
Make Catwoman a manipulative, self-centered and wretched femme fatale like Natalie in “Memento“.
And while we’re at it cast CARRIE-ANNE MOSS she would be perfect for the role.
Would love to see Poison Ivy in the sequel, because I think Nolan could do amazing things with the charakter! Vera Farmiga is an interesting choice, never thought of her as Ivy, but it could work. My first pick for the character was Scarlett Johansson…
The ending of TDK is perfect for an intro to Bane. Bane seeks out the Batman to see if he is worthy of a challenge. Before he challenges the Batman, one must study his apponent.
You guys know what im talking about. I can just see it right now. Cops are after the Bat, Bane is testing the Bat with his crap….The Bat slowly losin his edge. And to make things worse…the remaining members of the League of shadows want revenge and lead by none other than Ra’s daughter…..
You didnt hear this from me.
I really like the idea of Guy Pearce for the Riddler. I think he’s a very under-rated actor and he clearly works well with Nolan
I’d like Penguin to come in, but only if I actually liked the character. I may be the only human who didn’t like Burton’s vision of the Batman world. In fact, I liked “Batman Forever” and that was it.
I think Mad Hatter would be a great villain, Catwoman is creepier than most give her credit for, and Mr. Freeze is more tragic than Schumacher’s abominable film presented him to be. But they are, respectively, too archaic, too ridiculous, and too weird for Nolan’s world.
That’s why I choose the following two. The Riddler has a surprisingly strong backstory, though the whole “casting” part of it is hard to say. Jim Carrey had time to pick better, more dramatic parts since the 1995 film, so bringing him back to give a darker, more twisted take would be welcomed. He nailed the comedic part of the role–which is crucial, I think–but now he could nail the serious part.
The other one is The Ventriloquist. Although there is the question of whether the mastermind would make an earthy, difficult villain like Joker or Scarecrow because of the puppet, Nolan would MAKE him realistic.
Just thoughts.
MORE STUPID SPECULATION BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR TIME!
AND I LIKE PEANUT BUTTER ON MY CARROTS!
I like Eva Mendes as Catwoman. :)
Brittany Murphy = Harley Quinn, NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS (if they go that route)!
“Most of your choices conform to the same way fans have picked the villians: pick someone who looks the part, worry about their skills and true appropriateness for the role.”
Not exactly. The only choice that could raise an eyebrow regarding talent (as mentioned by another commenter) is Milla. But find someone else who thinks Meloni would be a good get for Riddler. Ditto Tobolowky for Ventriloquist. No, I take into account acting chops and appearance, thanks very much.
Agent69: I’ve always thought Moss would have been a great Catwoman, but, well…she was lookin’ old in Disturbia, that’s all I’m saying.
John Hoving: You’re cute. Now run along, some of us are making money here.
Hey hoving – the only thing dumber than what one considers stupid is reading and commenting on what one considers stupid. The question is – don’t YOU have anything better to do with YOUR time?
The Ridler – Viggo Mortenson
Tony Zucco – Dennis Farina
Hangman – Maria Bello
No Nightwing, no Penguin, No Catwoman.
More 2 Face, and maybe Hugo Strange.
I’d like to see Riddler done as a modern day serial killer that leaves puzzles, anagrams, riddles etc at the scene of the murders. And obviously these murders would have to have a meaning or point to something big. I think the riddler should also have an obsession with the batman and what his secret identity is. I know that the Joker was trying to accomplish this but it would give the riddler’s murders motive.
Also would like to see maybe the Holiday killer and have it end up being Two-face. They would really have to keep that quiet though.
We have seen the origin story and the crime drama…now we should see a good mystery movie.
I have yet to see her in anything dramatic, but I think Isla Fischer could be an entertaining Harley Quinn. She’s got a good look for the character and we all know she can do crazy
Milla and Vera as Catwoman and Poison Ivy respectively is a great call. Now that I’ve pictured it it’s hard to envision anyone other than them playing the roles.
Don’t destroy me and it will never happen but I really think Leonardo DiCaprio could pull off a great Riddler with many layers. I also like Ryan Gosling… unconventional and young choices but I can see it working.
I like the idea of the Riddler in the next film and maybe Hugo weaving or Geoffrey rush playing him.
Perhaps like the killer in saw with puzzles and murderous mind games.
Also Talia al Ghul would be intresting to see, maybe played by Kate Beckinsale looking for revenge for her fathers death.
milla jovitch as selina kyle is perfect. i agree when people say that the joker is the ultimate villain to put up against batman and all others in his rogues gallery fall a bit short. but introducing catwoman is somthing that could be great. we wouldnt have her origin story, she should be a small time cat burgler and batman may encounter her on and the forbidden romance ensues. that’s a subplot that i would like to see in the next batman movie.
I think you can and SHOULD recast the joker. too much work was put into the character to let him just not appear on screen again. Daniel Day Lewis is my choice. And should be considered for “The Dark Knight Returns” or “The Batman”
I don’t understand why people keep saying that they want to see two-face in the next film?? He died and will not be coming back!! His story fit in nicely with the plot in TDK, but they will need something fresh for the next one
As much as I like Jovovich, I dont think she is a good enough actress to hold her own next to the rest of the cast. Marion Cotillard can though. My personal choice is Eliza dushku, but again, she probably cant hold her own and isnt ”popular” enough next to the rest of the cast.
As for Ivy, Verma is a good actress, but I dont see her as Ivy. Emily Blunt or Kate Winslet will do.
Kate Beckinsale for Catwoman FTW! She said she’d be willing to do it. A Bale/Beckinsale -> Bruce/Selina by Nolan chemistry would go down in history. Plus we all know she can pull off the skintight outfits. (Underworld series)
Like Bale she is from the UK, and like Bale, she can do an American accent spot on (Click)
I think the other villians (minus Penguin who should be played by Bob Hoskins)… should be a total “out-of-the-box” casting ala Heath Ledger.
Selina/Catwoman would probably have her Milleresque origins as a Prostitute/Jewel Thief.
P.S
***SPOILERS***
In response to Mike above.
You don’t know 100% if Harvey died or not.
He took the same fall as Sal Maroni and Batman, while tackling him to the ground, took the very same fall. Also, Just because he has his eyes closed, does not mean he’s dead. And finally… at his memorial service, you do not see a coffin of sorts. It could’ve been just one big fat cover up so they could protect the symbolism that is Harvey Dent, the white knight. Two Face could be locked up in Arkham Asylum.
Here are the 3 musts for TDK2
John Malkavich (as Hugo Strange, Who is hired by the GCPD to analyize Batman to help determine who he is and arrest him. Meanwhile, while “hunting” him down becomes infatuated with being the Batman. He also is able to convince a woman to take up the role of the Joker to draw batman out)
Amanda Bynes (as Harley Quinn, Strange’s assistant, who may be a bit crazy, but also being manipulated by Stange into copy-catting the Joker to lure in the Batman)
Rhona Mitra (as Talia alGuhl, Who is sent to spy on Bruce Wayne/Batman for her father, but falls in loved with him and is torn between her devotion to her father’s plan and her love of Bruce/Batman)
I see your point Shawn, I just don’t think it would be a good idea to bring him back. Same thing with Ra’s al Gual, we didn’t know for sure if he died, but it was more assumed and he was not missed in TDK in my opinion. I don’t think two-face was a strong enough villian to sustain two films…only Heath Ledger’s Joker could have been effective for two films, in my opinion.
Michael Emerson as the Riddler. He has that Kevin Spacey “John Doe from Se7en” vibe. He’d be a great fit for Riddler. Angelina Jolie for Catwoman. She has that dangerous/sexy thing going for her and I can totally visualize her saying things like “yummy” or “meow”. Either Jolie or Kate Beckinsale would be a good choice. Bob Hoskins is perfect as Penguin, though I wouldn’t like to see Penguin in a Batfilm anyway. I wouldn’t mind seeing Vera Farmiga as Poison Ivy. Joseph-Gordon Levitt as Dick Grayson.
Sweet call on Emerson.
I’ve been thinking about this since I seen the movie…How the hell can they top TDK? Like plently have said, The Joker is the most mass-appealing villain in the Batman mythos. However, The Riddler could be done really well. His story could parallel the Zodiac murders. He wants to get caught but not before he has destroyed Gotham. One could argue that the Riddler being portrayed as a terrorist would be too similar to TDK’s Joker. I think the difference is that The Joker wants chaos, The Riddler wants recognition for his (in his eyes) brilliance. The Penguin (hell yea to Hoskins) as the next mob boss is just too damn perfect-Keep it a small part though. Finally, although I’m not a die-hard fan of her, I think Catwoman is inevitable. 1) Bruce needs a new love interest, 2) She is probably the second most recognizable bat-villian to the masses. The only problem I have with her is the name-Catwoman. I just can’t picture it (the name) working with the realistic tone of the movie. I can easily see Oswald “the Penguin” Cobblepot, cause it could be a nickname. (In which he guns down any man who dare call him that) as for The Riddler–his name could come from the press. But Catwoman…I just don’t see it. Maybe if she is like half-joking when Batman asks her who she is….actually, that would def work.
PS
If they do use Catwoman, I hope HER costume has nipples on it :)
i personally would love to see Nolan’s take on the character Bane. He is already a fantastic villian and with a little tweaking could be a believable villain in the nolan universe. also i would like to see catwoman but not as a major villain especially after jokers regain of terror. what kind of threat could she produce? altough after racheals demise one could see why batman may fall for a women like catwoman. before riddler i would really like to see two-face ‘s reign of terror.
First and foremost, Two-Face (played by Aaron Eckhart) must continue his quest of vigilant vengeance in the next one.
I would like to see Catwoman carry a major role in the next film, but would like to see an unknown actress try it (my top picks are either Francoise Yip or Calita Rainford). Of course, Catwoman’s gray-shaded world would contrast sharply with Face’s black-or-white outlook. So, she would probably become a target rather than an ally.
However, I also want to see Rupert Thorne pop up as the rival to the Falcone crime family that becomes like a godfather to Two-Face, giving him a sympathetic regard to organized crime that he’s never had before.
Personal choices for this role are Dan Aykroyd or Larry Drake (Durant in Darkman).
If Oswald Cobblepot shows up, it needs to be in a bit part (like the manager of a shady gentleman’s club) in which he’s interrogated by Batman.
Bob Hoskins would be good, but I’d really like to see Danny DeVito return as a very different – dapper gentleman – Penguin.
I really hope they bring the Joker back even though no one will ever ever ever ever top Heath Ledger. Maybe Daniel Day-Lewis or Johnny Depp even. For Catwoman I think Keira Knightley wouldn’t be a bad choice, Emily Blunt’s my second.
Michael Emerson – Edward Nigma/Riddler
Angelina Jolie or Kate Beckinsale – Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Bob Hoskins – Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin
Jessica Biel? – Poison Ivy (She certainly has the looks, but not too sure on her acting ability. Plus I don’t see her in this type of film anyway. But the same thing could be said about Katie Holmes.) If not her, I’d go with Scarlett Johansson.
Hugo Weaving – Mr. Freeze (I can see him as the Riddler as well.)
Britney Murphy or Amanda Bynes – Harley Quinn (Again, don’t know if they can pull it off acting-wise.)
Javier Bardem – Bane
Natassia Malthe or Rhona Mitra – Talia al Ghul
Joseph Gordon Levitt – Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing
I would like Chiwetel Ejiofor as the Black Mask. His role as the villian in Serenity was real good. Or to be radical cast him as the Riddler. I know he is a Black man but if played straight, why not.
A Mad Hatter / Scarecrow team up would be entertaining for the audience, they could play out the argueing about Alice in Wonderland and Nursery Rhymes. Would be an interesting character.
I’m also really hoping for Black Mask, he’s such an interesting character to develop from the comics. Someone like Mark Rolston could play him, he was great in The Departed.
For some reason I’d like to see Jared Leto enter the Nolan Bat-Universe somehow as some character. But yes, I’m for Black Mask, or even Hush (though that will never happen). But odds are, The Riddler will make an appearance.
The rise and fall of Harvey Two-Face Dent’s character was too shortly lived to just end in TDK. I even think that Aaron Eckhart signed a two picture deal so I definitely wouldn’t rule out Two-Face’s survival. We saw his good side/origin, but we have yet to see this very important character evolve/ completely transform. Besides, now that everyone fear Batman again (both the good and the bad), he needs some redemption for the blame/selfless sacrifice he took for Gotham’s “White Knight”.
In conclusion, I’d like to see Two-Face return, as well as the introduction of the Penguin as another Mafioso king pen who’s eventual relationship with Dent becomes a serious force to be reckoned with.
I’d also like to see a “Robin”/Nightwing character for the simple fact that he (Batman) will most likely will need him, now that he’s a fugitive. Forget the red suit with green and yellow jump shorts. Make him bad ass and give him a mask or at least something that hides his appearance better than a sleeping mask.
I would have the first part of the film be about Batman quietly assisting Gordon with straight up detective work, Sherlock Holmes style, rather than an action set up. Then he starts uncovering a vigilanting crime fighting streak and discovers a new dark hero/villain in catwoman, their goals are similar, but they’re often fighting, and Batman doesn’t know how to deal with her. Then as Batman is struggling to address all this in the second half bring in Harley Quinn as a straight up Joker imitator. With more sadism, less self-control and every bit as evil. Batman then has to battle the spirit of the joker as embodied/reflected by Quinn and the spirit of his own deeds and misdeeds as embodied/reflected by Catwoman, and face both sides of himself.
I for one am glad Two-Face is dead and gone. He was used perfectly, rather than being a schumacher/Burton style supervillain he fit in completely within the Nolan-verse, except of course the wretchedly out of place cgi makeup job that was such a bad bad idea. It’s fine to pay tribute to comic books from time to time, but something so comically unreal as his face in a universe trying to stay pretty real is just damned frustrating.
I love the idea of Bane, and I’d get an actor with a destinct accent to play the part, perhaps Djimon Honsou? Of course, it’d definitely be too unrealistic to have a man tap a button on a suit and have his muscles grow on the spot, so if they go this route, they should make him a super soldier experiment that went awry. Two-face/The Penguin/Scarecrow, any of them, hires Bane to take down Batman. Bane searches the globe, finds some nasties to get him good and tired, then moves in for the kill
I would like to see Man-Bat in the next batman movie
AT PIZZA HUT WE CALL YOU GUYS HAIR PINS
