‘London Boulevard’ UK trailer

Posted by · 1:38 pm · October 29th, 2010

We waited all year for a US distributor to bite on William Monahan’s “London Boulevard,” but it never happened. FormDistrict was formed by the film’s producer, Graham King, last month and will be handling a release Stateside next year. Today a UK trailer hit as the film is opening there next month. It looks like a fun romp and boy does Ray Winstone seem like the perfect guy to rip through Monahan’s dialogue.   Check out an embed after the jump.

Nice to see Winstone get to play the boss. But him acting alongside Farrell just reminded me of “The War Zone” and now I’m all creeped out.

Looks like a lot of fun. Farrell’s accent is exactly like Ralph Fiennes in “In Bruges.”

“I’m sorry I called you an inanimate object.”

Doesn’t look much like the book, but it looks very entertaining. Looking forward to it.

    *Film District, you mean. :)

I love the whole visual style – looks incredible. Wish it was being released this year, but Monahan just wrapped the film last week.

Finally a trailer! It’s so not what I expected, I pictured something a bit more…serious/dark? But it looks like fun.

I love pretty much all of the big names in the cast. Anna Friel! Also Knightley, Farrell, Winstone, Thewlis. Looks good. Not great, but good.

But what felony did Knightley commit in the sightline of whomever made that wig? How long is this person going to keep blackmailing her into wearing it? Is it any easier for someone to intervene if it turns out to be her real hair? I like Knightley and think she’s perfectly lovely, but I feel like she’s trapped in Patricia Clarkson’s getup from Shutter Island.

When Colin Farrell first hit the scene, I didn’t buy the hype. Since he’s cleaned up, though, the guy is a on a freakin’ role. Watching him come into his own is a lovely thing to watch…

Too bad it won’t be shown in the US till next year…

I bet it won’t have an Oscar run as well?
