‘Biutiful’ trailer

Written by

Guy had his say on Alejandro González Iñárritu’s “Biutiful” at Cannes and I had some softer things to say out of Telluride.  It’s possible that a very touching and controlled performance by Javier Bardem gets into the Best Actor line-up, and the film will represent Mexico in the foreign film race.  But we’ll have to see how the Academy reacts.  In the meantime, the official trailer has hit at Apple.  Check it out by clicking the image below or watch an embed after the jump.

I can say at the very least it looks beautifully shot. I’m more interested to see it due to Bardem.

Best part of that trailer is the Lust, Caution music… but otherwise, I don’t think it looks that great.

Love the use of that music.

Very weird how Apple put the 1.85:1 aspect ratio in a 2.35:1 box.

    Bardem looks fantastic.

Does anyone know why the film uses different aspect ratios?

I want to see it for Bardem, and it looks well filmed, but I’m very wary due to the divisive reviews.

Supposedly it does use different aspect ratios…2.40 and 1.85, thus the switching during the trailer

The cinematography looks stunning! And Bardem looks wonderful… Don’t know about the subject matter, but this is one I’ve been interested in since it’s Cannes debut.
