Alright, I’m ducking out of here for the night. Feel free to use this space to discuss the show, the winners, whatever strikes you. The red carpet starts up in about two hours. I don’t think there will be too much strain on the server, but if things get sluggish, have patience with us.
If you’re looking for a live stream of the Oscarcast, I’m told you can watch here and, of course, Oscar.com (if you don’t mind paying five bucks). I imagine Justin.tv will have a page, too. You can check the rundown of awards presentations here.
Once again, if you haven’t joined our pool at Picktainment, do so here. Meanwhile, my final predictions are here, Guy’s are here and Gerard’s are here. The aggregated picks of others can be found at Awards Daily, Gold Derby and Movie City News.
And…that should about cover it. Enjoy the show, be safe, have fun, all of that good stuff. The checkered flag is in sight. Check back tomorrow for the season’s final Oscar Talk as Anne and I pick up the pieces and try to figure out what happened.

Some hysterical, borderline-crazy bloggers created that “TKS Sweep” idea for nothing and kept whining about it! I wonder what they are thinking now!
And Obama apparently knows nothing about the Oscars, since “As Time Goes by” wasn’t even eligible. ;)
TSN is looking good. I’d say it’s about 50-50 right now.
‘Eternal Sunshine’ won Best Screenplay
Good stuff so far, happy with the winners mostly, as much as one is going to be.
And for the person who complained about the foreign film award… Susanne Bier is a major name in international cinema nowadays. Brothers was incredible and After the Wedding was a great film. She may not be Bergman or Fellini, but this isn’t Departures or The Counterfeiters either. And mediocre films from unknown directors have always won at times in this category, and great films for that matter from unknown directors.
Anne Hathaway sounded much much better in her piece than Mandy Moore in this song! Boring…..
I’m not wild about Kevin Spacey as an actor, but God knows it’s nice to have someone smooth and competent presenting an award. Actually, the presenters in general have been a relief tonight. No Edward Nortons mumbling and staring at their own shoes.
Wow, so far the songs suck. This category needs to go. The only reason it’s any good is the occasional out-there nom for things like “Blame Canada” or the rare win for gems like “Once”.
Someone should warn the President Obama about “overexposure”…We didnt need him in this telecast!
Sertan: My initial reaction was how lovely Mandy Moore sounded!
Bing: After the Wedding was in my top ten of that year. I haven’t seen the film, but Dogtooth was incredible and was the more acclaimed film.
Either let them perform the songs or just get rid of it during the show. This is crap.
Frank Lee,
good for your ears, not for mine! Oh well.. We will survive this!
James D,
I just saw After the Wedding for the first time this week. What a great movie.
When was Obama on the show, in what context? I must’ve missed it??
@bdgabinski with the tweet of the night: “This whole show is the van falling off the bridge in Inception.”
Ugh, short categories, I hate you.
8 for 16.
And the best live action short goes to the most amateurish looking film. Every frame… stagy looking as heck.
oh CRINGE CRINGE CRINGE. WTF WTF WTF??!!
Autotune the Oscars! Kind of awful, but kind of absurd enough for me to like it.
Autotuning movies! Where’s Antoine Dobson?
Oprah! Everybody gets a golden plane!
Wow Anne Hathaway, such a class act.
I had almost forgotten how much I dislike her. It’s good to be reminded.
Yeah, James Franco is definitely stoned!
I’M GETTING KILLED ON PREDICTIONS. WHAT THE HELL.
I’ve only guessed four correctly all night. This is literally the worst I’ve ever done. I could have thrown darts at my ballot and done better.
aw, Banksy :( …
I think Inside Job win can be considered as a surprise!
Inside Job! Awesome! Sorry, Banksy.
Charles Ferguson rules!
8 for 17. Yeesh.
I actually loved the autotune segment! That was so much more interesting than the nominees for Best Song.
Well, I called Inside Job, but I would have happily lost those 4 points for Restrepo.
This telecast is going so smoothly. It’s nothing spectacular, but at least it’s not a complete mess as they’ve been for the last SEVERAL years.
No frills, just some mild humor, classy presenters, and the focus is on what it should be: Recognizing the winner’s and their accomplishments.
BILLY! LaFinke was right.
Some of this show is embarrassing and I have to fast forward through it.
I’m glad that TSN has two Oscars so far, just so that some bloggers could finally quit whining and stfu about a King’s Speech sweep.
This has been a tremendous ceremony so far.
Virtual Bob Hope is better than James Franco.
Oh wow Jude Law is going bald
Inception takes its fourth!
@phil_rosenthal has a late contender for Tweet of the Night:
“Will the In Memoriam montage on tonight’s #Oscars show include tonight’s #Oscars show?”
And at least so far, the big winner of the night is Inception!
Social Network takes its third!
TSN takes editing, as I guessed.
I’m 10 for 19 now.
My ETV1 reception turned milky about fifteen minutes ago, when Oprah was on. Can anyone explain how to make it go back to a clear picture? Damn you, Oprah!
So glad to see TSN winning, but this might be my worst Oscar pool ever. Cash down the drain.
Thats it, SOCIAL NETWORK WILL WIN BEST PICTURE! LAUGH IT UP, TKS LOVING BITCHES!
Either TKS will end up with 3 including BP, or only 2 without BP.. TSN may end up with 5.
HUGE win for TSN. It may win out from here. Which means Inception and they tie for 4.
I’m going 11 for 19. o_@
Those predicting a King’s Sweep must feel rather foolish now.. Although I don’t think anyone predicted this. I’m thinking The Social Network is winning it now.. If Fincher wins, that seals the deal.
NOT SO FAST OMARA, i hope, but lets keep it friendly
