Kris, I’m still not sure why everybody, including you, thinks Robert Duvall will get in over Gosling for Actor. Duvall and the film he’s in have lost all of their buzz.
But, of course, this is the Academy…they always nominate older actors that already have enough awards over the younger guys who could use more recognition.
I don’t really think it’s lost all its buzz, tony. He landed a SAG nomination. He had the Chinese Theatre ceremony on his 80th birthday last week (meaning Sony paid for it in order to keep the coals stoked). He has received a number of honors throughout the season. Etc. Just because the film came and went doesn’t mean the buzz did.

His little dance was cute too.

I hope he gets a nomination. To me, he’s been solid so far.

And you thought he couldn’t get more talented or charming…….I also luv his very dry sense of humor….I think my heart just melted…lol
Def best performance of the year, really hope he gets a nom!

why the academy feels they need to nominate jeff Bridges again for a sub-par performance and robert duvall — who both have already won — especially in light of phenomenal performances from ryan gosling, leonardo dicaprio, in two films, mark wahlberg and aaron eckhart, i will never know.

He’s so great. I’m in love with him. And I pray to the Oscar gods that he gets a nomination, because he was excellent in Blue Valentine.
Exactly correct- best performance of the year.
I prefer his “goofy” singing personally. :P

I can’t wait to see him win an Oscar of his own in 20-30 years.
