I still say that if you honestly can’t understand what Jeff Bridges is saying in this movie, I have no choice but to think you’re 95 years old. Nevertheless, this is hilarious (courtesy of College Humor):

Ha! That was hysterical. And Kris, I am 30, and DEFINITELY did not pick up on everything Jeff said.
But as I’ve mentioned before, the intermittent inaudible speech actually added to his charm, for me. I enjoyed trying to figure out what he was saying in spots, haha.
I don’t see why you say you need to be 95 to not understand the dialogue. I think my 22 year old ears work just fine. With that said, I agree with JJ1 that his bizarre speech added to the charm.
That almost had me in tears laughing. Collegehumor does it again.
HAHA. Speech therapy class.
The fun part for me was guessing which subtitles were accurate and which were jokes.
James: Mainly I’m annoyed with old cranks like Wells who keep saying they couldn’t hear a damn thing. So…
Oh, I wasn’t aware of people saying things like that. I don’t see why they would have an issue with it, though. He sounds like an old, rugged alcoholic. That is the point.
Forget Jim Carrey’s ridiculous Black Swan parody… THIS is funny! :)
Holy crap, this was spot on. I could not understand a thing Bridges said in that courtroom scene. xD
College Humor and Funny or Die should take over SNL’s time slot.
I think if Jeff Wells got his head out of his ass he would hear what Bridges was saying perfectly clear.
MY JINX IS OCCUPIED!
That was hi-larious!
I’m 19 and I could understand about 95% of what he was saying.
That was hilarious.
I can’t stop laughing – this is hysterical!!!!
Really? It wasn’t that funny.
Pretty funny… I read the book shortly before seeing the movie, so I think that helped me understand what he was saying… but this 28-year old still did not understand all of it.
I misunderstood what Jeff Bridges said in “True Grit” for about as long as I misunderstood what Ken Watanabe was saying “Inception”. You get used to it after about a minute or so.
Haha. ^ very true, Duncan
I speak English as a foreign language, so I had a hard time understanding him speaking. However, I loved the way he talks in the movie. Even not getting everything, I enjoyed it a lot.
