Brrrr. Madness.
i was hoping for Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.
Sigh, hopefully she finds time to shave.
Well, shave my legs and SAG me , that might’ve just been the better option.
Was hoping for James Franco and Anne
Hathaway.
I still can’t believe Mo’nique is an Oscar-winning actress. I would love for Meg Griffin to continue the tradition of sitcom stars-turned Oscar nominees.
Why can’t Mila be remembered for that 70s show instead of Family Guy?
She’s a trip.
SO. CLOSE.
I had my money on Gabby Sidibe! :(
Also, I agree with the Mila Kunis argument. Jackie > Meg.
I wish they could have someone more respected and with a longer career. The only ones I’ve liked that they’ve recently had are Anne Hathaway and Kathy Bates. My choice: Cate Blanchett.
Kate Winslet should be the one announcing but i’m pretty confident that Mo’Nique will do a great presentation of the nominees. The woman knows her way on the stage so she will be good for this.
As always happens with the “co-presenter” , she will have to announce the nominees for best supporting actor, best leading actor, best original screenplay, best foreign language film and best picture.
P.S: I personally hate Mr Sherak’s accent but thats just me (i think…).
It’s actually pretty shocking imo. I thought she was pretty much done with the whole awards thing altogether but happy she gets this chance I hope she nails it.
It’s also sad that Mo is announcing in a year that will be the first since 2000 without any Oscar nominated black actors.
You have to go back to 1982 to find a year without ANY black nominees. I’m assuming John Legend will prevent that from happening this year as I doubt Remi Adefarasin and Willie Burton will be nominated in either Cinematography or Sound.
Wells must love it.
I think Mo’Nique deserved her Oscar and gave a performance or the ages. It wasn’t just the best performance of last year it is hands down one of the best performances ever given. She completely transformed herself and became Mary. She was horrible, degrading, vile and utterly heartbreaking. I hope she gets cast in movies that can show off her true skills again. Glad she is presenting she deserves it.
I love the Kate Winslet idea. She won’t be able to next year, though, because I think she has a great shot at a supporting nod for “God of Carnage”. She has been away far too long.

No you don’t… take a look at 2000.

Leelai Demoz was nominated for Best Documentary Short in 2000.
Mike, you made a good point about Anne Hathaway. Last year, I remember being impressed with the way Anne handled the foreign language categories like a natural linguist. That wasn’t easy to pull-off.

Oh, I thought we were only talking about acting here.
Interesting.
IS SHE GETTING PAID FOR IT??
