Sorry, but Harrison Ford brought three of the most immortal characters in cinematic history (Han Solo, Indiana Jones and “Arrested Student” in Zabriskie Point) to life; I don’t think making some crappy movies causes his career to require “saving”.

If we can save Harrison Fords career, what a joke. Hes infamous, hes older and choosing movies he likes, o well.

Well, I did write in my Carancho review last month:

It could be similarly remake-bound, too, if smart Hollywood producers prick up their ears.

Still, I wasn’t expecting quite such a quick response.

Remaking Carancho is ridiculous. Why can’t people learn how to read subtitles and see the original?!

Ford’s carrer is as good as it was a decade ago. People are too quick to judge. “Crossing Over” would not have been saved by anyone. Ditto, the passion project “Extraordinary Measures” which was judged as something that should be beneath Ford even before the movie opened.

Should Ford be blamed for doing a project he knew wasn’t commercial? Of course not. People still want to see Ford films as long as he is playing a lead role in a vehicle that is traditionally associated with him.

This is why of all his recent films, Indiana Jones 4 was both a commercial success and a certified fresh film on RT. People want to see Ford play a winner and this is why Cowboys and Aliens will do well too.

Indy 4 was certifiably terrible. All I remember from my screening was seeing the Benjamin Button trailer for the first time.

Seeing what Ford, De Niro and Pacino have been doing makes me think Gene Hackman made the right decision.

    Princess, thank you. It’s crazy.

Only Tarantino can save Ford but Ford being Ford he’d turn it down anyway.

That Movieline assessment of NBR is a little off. Nobody has seen True Grit, and I’m not entirely sure they’ll have it ready in time for a special screening for NBR.

@Angry Shark – Do you mean Moviefone?

@Maxim – You may say that Ford’s career is as good as it was a decade ago, but it sucked then too. He hasn’t really done great work in a great film since “The Fugitive,” though some may feel Air Force One or What Lies Beneath fit that bill (it’s been too long since I saw either one to be certain, but I’d guess they don’t).

Ford is one of those actors I’ve never really cared much about beyond his two major franchises (and no, I’m not talkin’ Jack Ryan).

Ten years ago my head would have exploded seeing a guy like LexG be promoted and broadcast via legitimate movie websites.

Then again, I probably WAS LexG ten years ago.

Maybe I should start making YouTube videos, because time is running out for me to make a living out of my love for (and knowledge of) movies.

LexG makes me laugh. That gets points this time of year.
