This afternoon I received a copy of Posy Simmonds’s graphic novel “Tamara Drewe,” which has been adapted as a film by director Stephen Frears. A nice bit of promotion, though I must admit, this has been way off my radar all year. Guy was no fan at all when he saw it at Cannes, but it’s set to hit the festival circuit in the coming weeks. The trailer just launched via Yahoo! Movies. Check it out by clicking the image below or watch the embed on the jump.

Looks kind of good, actually. Love the British small town vibe that makes movies like Hot Fuzz and Fantastic Mr. Fox so special. Roger Allam appears similar to Jonathon Ross, no?
“Fantastic Mr. Fox” has about as much British small town vibe as Madonna’s accent.
Maybe it’s the similarity to Wallace and Gromitt
This one is coming to the Chicago Film Festival, so I may check it out.
Christina Hendricks has made me forget Gemma Arterton exists.
I saw the film two weeks ago at a screening. It was funny. A strange mix of Shakespeare and a lot of Woody Allen as well. Arterton fails to really impress though, and it’s probably a minor SPOILER to say that the title character is the least interesting one in the entire film.
The trailer didn’t win me over, but still interested.
