You didn’t think you were out of the 2009 awards season woods yet, did you? No way. James Cameron and 20th Century Fox are gonna squeeze the “Avatar” cash cow until the milk stops flowing, surely. And with a big junket for “Avatar: Special Edition” in Los Angeles yesterday, and a new just-released trailer, it seems August 27 is the new “Avatar Day” with the theatrical re-release, including more footage, set to bow. Check out the teaser trailer on the jump.

I am only thankful that Master Cameron is not charging us eight extra dollars for the eight extra minutes of footage. Of course, this is a huge bargain for us.
The new footage looks really good.
Uh. Okay. Skipping this.
Sounds fun. Not dying for extra footage in any way, but this was inevitable, and will be on the ultimate edition blu-ray later this year. But I’m down to check it out in IMAX 3D one last time.
Anyone know the music used in that commercial? That’s not Horner’s score, is it?
I second that question. It’s not right?
Shazam doesn’t recognize it but my guess is it’s some of Horner’s unused score. Or maybe he got back into the studio for some added cues on the SE and that’s what they used here.
I am willing to bet that it’s Horner for two reasons. First of all it sounds lke him and second, because it seems wrong it be using such an obvious soundalike.
Tapley’s guess seems true. Wait for a re-release of the score too, I guess.
OK THE SCORE
Is from two Steps from Hell, its called “Heart of COurage”. Featured in some Mass Effect 2 commercials too. Now, I’M looking for the soundtrack used in the older SPECIAL EDITION trailer, please help!
