Predictions of a different stripe

Alright, it’s Friday night, the news day is winding down, McNabb is about to take the field for the first time in crimson and gold and you all know I’m a pigskin fanatic (as are plenty of you), so I figured it was worth it to offer up this.  You?

The Jets? With Darrelle asking for 40 million more than they are offering and HBO following them around all season? Plus a second year QB.

I can’t really go with anyone besides the Colts and Saints again. I like the Ravens a lot as well. Flacco will be better and they finally have a legit WR with Boldin.

If I’m honest, I expect the NFC champ to be the Super Bowl winner, so probably Saints or Cowboys. But I just can’t go there given my allegiances, and really, the HBO stuff, Darrelle, pointless in the grand scheme. Sanchez might be an issue but he came to life in the playoffs last year. So I’ll go out on that limb for now.

Cotls are always a threat to win and unfortunatly I think this could be the year that the Cowboys win it all again. But I’m gonna go out on a bit of a limb and say the Packers win it all.

Al. B: Probably 9-7 and fighting for a spot at year’s end, but I’m trying to keep expectations in check. Lots to be excited about.

I keep rooting for the Ravens even though they keep finding ways to beat themselves. I’m also still holding out for Favre and friends to pull off a miracle.

Very risky going with the Jets, I’m nowhere near as brave as you…

…I’m going with the Cowboys this year. I will say though, Kris, that I agree that the champ this year will most likely come from the NFC.

If Favre randomly bows out in the next few weeks, that changes things for me. Probably go with Seattle sliding in to six seed, Packers winning the north division, Bears up a notch.

As always, I’m hoping for a Miami/Washington Super Bowl, but I’m not holding my breath.

The Jets? How many superstar teams do we have to see fall apart efroe we stop falling for it?

I think the Colts are going to be motivated to finish the job this year.

I’m going to be boring and predict a Colts-Saints rematch with the Colts winning this time.

If Favre comes back and stays healthy, I think we’ll see Minnesota take it. I mean, they had the Saints number in the NFC championship last year but turnovers cost them the game. If they didn’t turn the ball over so much, I don’t think it would have been close at all.

But if Favre doesn’t come back, I think Kris is pretty spot on with either the Cowboys or Saints taking it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers were up there too.

Justin, having Favre equals turnovers. He has ended the last three years with devastating interceptions to end his team’s season. At 41, he is not going to suddenly change that. Besides, as great as Adrian Peterson is, he is going to have the same fumbling problems he has had thus far, more than likely.

Besides, now with Harvin’s migraine problems, Minnesota might come back down to Earth a bit.

Assuming Revis is there, I say the Jets go 12-4 and win the Super Bowl over the Packers. I’m not as sure Favre is coming back as everyone else seems to be, and without him I see the Vikings as a 9-7 team.

I’d say the NFC’s elite – Cowboys, Pack, Vikings, Saints, maybe even Falcons – look better than the top of the AFC. The AFC is really anybody’s to take. Indy of course will be there, as will the Pats, but my sleeper pick is Miami. They’ve been quietly putting together a solid team. Key will be if they can cover the passing game better than last year. If so, watch out.

I told you the Jets were nothing. 47 yards passing.
