It costs 5 million dollars to “convince” voters to back a film for Oscar consideration?

Wow, they are basically admitting that all the nominations are just the result of campaigning and not quality.

Yeah, I know this is not news, but it’s astounding how much the academy are willing to publicly admit what a joke they are.

It wasn’t done by the Academy, Filmoholic.

Gone with the Wind comes in at 3 hrs and 46 mins. A small complaint, I know, but it still raises the bar on the longest length for a winning feature.

That aside, a number I’d be interested in knowing: the percentage of voters that actually vote.

Damn $500 to use high speed internet.

$5 mil to bribe the voters, ah I mean “campaign”

I think we need to get a larger number of streakers for the Academy Awards.

There’s been a lot of these infographics going around on the Web lately. The last two I saw were about STDs and sperm, and both were equally as horrifying.

This one makes me want to pour bleach in my ears a lot less.

(I really have nothing insightful to contribute this morning….)

The average person wins $50 in oscar pools?

Can someone tell me how I can join one of these pools? lol.
