I loved how the things he said would make people furious if he meant them. Like his critique of The King’s Speech wothout having seen it.
I do agree with the “you’re not an asshole…”
It was lame. (Even if he was kidding with that too)

Question: Is this doofus going to be given spotlight here constantly? I’d like to know so I can tune out early.
Drew
How much does he pregame drink before he does these?
Hc792
Yeah, it’s not comedy, just idiocy.
Less LexG please?
Pete
This guy needs to get laid. Also needs to get educated. Social Network or The King’s speech will win best picture. The only thing that makes The Fighter worthwhile is Bale. Not Whalberg, who this wig-wearing weirdo seems to go on about.
Bulging/Hc792: When it makes me laugh, it’ll get a spotlight. I enjoy the fresh air of “this is all bullshit,” and underneath it all, that’s what Lex is about. I totally get it if you don’t, though. No one’s making you click “play.”
The more serious you take him the farther from the point you get, though.
This guy is FUCKING HILARIOUS. Good on Poland for briefly giving him a platform to expound upon, and good on Tapley for posting this video. LEX G, you should start Hollyblogging for TheWrap. Love your sensibility, kid. Keep it up. But ditch the rug. You’re better than that!

lets be real, Good Vibrations is a great fkin song. I dont know why Wahlberg is ashamed of it. I guess Eminem made fun of him on his 1st 2 albums but whatever, if people take their music snob hat off, its a great song that just gives off pleasure and joy, same as Ice Ice Baby, another disgracefully maligned song, cause I guess cause its cool to hate Vanilla Ice.
This is where music critics/snobs dont do their job, they let hipness dictate what you supposed to listen to.

So cute to look at . . . such intensity . . .that mole ….. ouch!
I don’t quite get Lex but I’m all in favor of Kris and Anne giving him a guest spot on an upcoming Oscar Talk.

What’s interesting to me is this: for all the TKS vs. TSN for the win …. I feel like if there’s ONE movie that can win if it is’t either of those 2, it would be ‘The Fighter’.
Seriously, I’ve been seeing promo for it CONSTANTLY lately. The RT scores, so far, are as solid as a rock. It will have an audience. I can just see PGA and SAG eating this up. I just think it’s peaking well.

When LexG speaks, people better listen.
Michael
LexG is an acquired taste for sure but when he is on he is really on (such as the video above.) I have enjoyed reading his comments on other Oscar blogs and I kinda wish he did comment here as well (I know he reads this site, b/c he has mentioned it elsewhere.) I would be all for a guest spot on Oscar Talk, although that might be too much for Anne and Kris to handle (he seems to get REALLY into what he is saying lol.)
I am still wondering when someone is gonna start making a t-shirt with the phrase “EAT VAG, TURN INTO A CROW”
John
Hahahahaha! Forget Franco and Hathaway, this guy should host!
Collin
Becoming increasingly convinced Kris is on the Paramount payroll. Or he’s just pushing their films enough to get DiCaprio/Scorsese interviews.

I recall this guy got banned from Glenn Kenny’s blog a while back for antagonizing everyone in sight, and insulting Kenny’s wife. Apparently they’ve since let him back into the fold, but I imagine he’s on a short leash.
I do wonder if virtually everything he says (in general, not just in the video) is with tongue firmly in cheek: he went on a tangent a while back about how only women between the ages of 16 and 24 could be considered sexy (apparently he’s REALLY into the Twilight girls), etc., etc.
At any rate, he certainly craves attention. Now he can say he “has the ear” of Kris Tapley.
Mr. Gittes
Wise up, Collin.
I say Lex is great. His VHS Thin Red Line video had me laughing the whole time. And he’s hit the nail on the head: King Speech???????
DylanS
I don’t know if this is just me being trivial, but I doubt “The Fighter” will be a Best Picture frontrunner simply because of it’s lame-ass title.
Ed O.
Really, Collin? Just now noticing this? Weren’t tipped off by anything before, like Bale’s DELIGHTFUL interview yesterday?

Although I was interrupted before making it to the very end of this segment, I will begrudgingly admit that it was leagues better than his riff on Coppla’s Somewhere. He referred to The Social Network by name a few too many times, but other than that, it was a decent…although while listing Wahlberg’s accomplishments he failed to mention The Truth About Charlie and The Happening.

Tapley, I am honestly an amazing hand-whistler. I’m talking about the kind where you put your hands together, blow air through them, and make what sounds like a dove call. Most people can only manage a few hoots, but I can play virtually any song I know the melody to, within a certain pitch range. I am a master of the medium, and if you’d ever like me to hand-whistle the themes to various movies, I’d be willing to provide audio or audio/visual recordings of such tunes.
Either that or just give me a column. I’ll make it worth your while.
In other news, I just learned today that I finally landed a teaching job (middle school gifted and talented), so I’ll be posting less on this site. Tragic, I know.
Ed O./Collin: I’ll weather that ignorant storm every time out. Earlier this summer I was supposedly on the WB payroll because the amount of Inception posts was chafing for some. Comes with the territory.
Also, it’s lame to make a comment, and then sign in under a different handle to agree with yourself. Just sayin…

I can’t believe how many people take all this shit so seriously — this guy is just hysterical and passionate and messy and real. I kind of dug him. At least he’s willing to put it all out there. I laughed every 30 seconds. And on another note, I don’t think he’s wrong.

This guy is the Jim Cramer of Oscar journalists.
I can’t take this guy’s opinion seriously.
That was hilarious
Neither can he, Duncan. Get in on the joke.
He’s really good at this new “sport” he invented.
