The first iPhone movie is here…almost

Written by

Last year, when I erroneously thought the iPhone 3GS would include video editing software, I asked how long it would be before the first movie fully shot and edited on an iPhone would hit.  Well the 3GS didn’t have editing software, but the newly released (and I hear buggy-as-hell) iPhone 4 does.  Commenter Chuck says this couldn’t have actually been edited on the iPhone 4, but it was shot exclusively with it and has a hell of a picture:

I’m sure someone has dicked around and shot a home porno or something by now.  Or baby videos.  And I guess there’s this.  But we’re still waiting on something substantial to be shot and EDITED on the iPhone.  Brave new world.

Cool vid, but NOT edited with the iPhone, let alone iMovie. I would also guess (but not certain) that a lot of the live sound was recorded on external recorders as well. The picture is all iPhone, though. And it’s awesome.

They also made extensive use of this, a $130 accessory:

I want one! (but only want to spend about $25 on it).

Editing takes so long that its unnecessary to edit something like this on a phone. Its just for apple geeks to whine about how awesome their tech is. To me its just redundant.

Hm, think you’re right, Chuck. The iPhone editing graphics are a lot more archaic-looking. But anyway…
