A tip of the hat to Twitch for digging up a Russian trailer for Sylvain Chomet’s “The Illusionist,” which I reviewed out of Berlin last month. Calling it my favorite film of 2010 is faint praise at this stage, but I’ll be surprised if 10 more films come along to top it. Either way, it’s certain to be in the animation awards discussion if/when it secures a US distributor.
This trailer is oddly structured, to say the least, but you should get some idea of the visual splendor on offer.

well,,,that got pulled down fast! =(
Okay, I’ve switched the embed, and it works now. Sorry about the ugly watermark.
I must say, it looks amazing. Can’t wait for the actual release!
It has some beautiful animation. Looks good.
how come there able to use the same title? as a previous film
For the same reason that Paul Haggis’s “Crash” was able to use the same title as a 1996 David Cronenberg film, or “No Country for Old Men” was able to use the same title as a 1981 TV movie, just as scores of films have used pre-existing titles over the years: there is no copyright on titles.
@Guy so why did James Cameron sue Nickelodean over use of the title since theres no copyright
