Thanks to Whole Foods Market, I saw a screening a week ago. I won a $20 gift card to their store (it’s a grocery store, in case anyone doesn’t know) for doing a Julia Child impersonation, which was based entirely on the footage I had seen of Streep in the trailers.
But more importantly, the movie inspired me to pursue what I love. Movies are my passion, and I created my blog to share my love of movies with the world like Julie Powell shares her love of cooking with her loved ones and anyone who wants to read about it.
Anyone, please check out my blog! I’m just getting started (don’t worry, Kris, I’m not trying to steal your readers, I have a link to your site!) and I could really use some of you all to start commenting and getting some discussion brewing!
Nicky: Fried eggs? You’re easily impressed ;)
Anyway, it’s all in the thumb-flick. Practise!
Am I the only one wishing Poland would go back to writing reviews? I can’t be bothered to sit through these, but I’m happy to read his thoughts.

I saw the movie and I mostly agree with Poland, but I dont agree with having the whole movie just on Julia. Meryl is great, but I dont think I could have sat through 2.5hours of it. I kinda needed the Amy Adams part to balance the Streep part somewhat. I think all the people praising Streep would be saying she was over doing it and chewing the scenes if it was just one big Julia movie.

I can’t wait to see the movie. Poland’s not a bad cook. I can’t crack an egg with one hand.
The movie is quite excellent, Nicky. You can see my thoughts in my detailed review here:
