Alright, I’m ducking out of here for the night. Feel free to use this space to discuss the show, the winners, whatever strikes you. The red carpet starts up in about two hours. I don’t think there will be too much strain on the server, but if things get sluggish, have patience with us.
If you’re looking for a live stream of the Oscarcast, I’m told you can watch here and, of course, Oscar.com (if you don’t mind paying five bucks). I imagine Justin.tv will have a page, too. You can check the rundown of awards presentations here.
Once again, if you haven’t joined our pool at Picktainment, do so here. Meanwhile, my final predictions are here, Guy’s are here and Gerard’s are here. The aggregated picks of others can be found at Awards Daily, Gold Derby and Movie City News.
And…that should about cover it. Enjoy the show, be safe, have fun, all of that good stuff. The checkered flag is in sight. Check back tomorrow for the season’s final Oscar Talk as Anne and I pick up the pieces and try to figure out what happened.

Over/Under 5 strange occurances at the Oscars this season (i.e. people falling, strange speeches, glitches etc.)?
Can someone explain to me why tonight’s show is only 3 hours long? I’m really disappointed.
But the pre-show is 90 minutes. I think the regular show is going to run late.
I know, but the pre-show is just fashion talk nonsense. WE WANT THE MOVIES!
What’s exactly the name of “our pool” on the Picktainment?
After reading the list of presenters for tonight I’m suspicious the Producers already know the outcome. The choice of Kirk Douglas to present Supporting Actress hints towards Hailee Steinfeld and the 80 year age gap (Hollywood young and old) between them. I’ve also spotted links for Supporting Actor with Witherspoon and Bale (American Psycho) and Director Swank and Hooper (Red Dust).
I remember thinking something similar back in 03 when Ford accepted for Polanski (Frantic) and Connery presented to Zeta Jones (Entrapment). It may be speculative on the Producers part (ala Scorsese) but I have doubts.
In Contention Oscar Pool.
Good call Authorized. Makes me think that cinematography will go to True Grit, since Hanks is presenting that one (Coens). Not sure about Art-direction though.

Does anyone know how to watch the red carpet coverage online? The E! website just shows the people milling around, but doesn’t have sound for the interviews.
TV Guide Channel also has video. but no interviews. Maybe oscar.com will have something at 7:00.
GO HAILEE!
But do they know who won, or they planning accordingly? Because of Harrison Ford in 1998?
DrakLayers,
They’re just guessing.

That green room looks so shit.
Why do they have the red carpet go until 7:30? Please fire the person who made that decision.
YES WALLY FUCKING PFISTER,MAZFNLKAJFL
Deakins. Denied. Again!
Well deserved, Mr. Pfister!
So is everyone else 0-2?
I guess it’s on to Now for Deakins next shot!
Pfister!!!!!
This show really started off with a bang YES WALLY PFISTER!!!! “You’re taking up my time…” We still love him.
im 1-2, poooor deakins
Is Busy Phillips there as Michelle Williams’s date?
Biggest question of the night answered.
Silly ads, you went nowhere. Melissa still won!
I’m at 1-2 right now.
Weirdly, I called the unpredictable Best Supporting Actress category right, but got the others wrong.
Ooh, expletive! The PTC is filing complaints as we speak!
*sign* I was right when I said this would be one of my worst years ever.
1 for 3 now.
Leo said fuck.
Leo survives Adgate and wins.
The whole thing with Kirk Douglas was surreal.
I think Melissa Leo deserves another Oscar for her “surprised/speechless” look and speech after winning her Oscar!
Give me a break!
Ugh, 1 for 4.
Holy shit, The Lost Thing was AWFUL. They really make the point of picking the worst film in this category these days (Logorama was also the worst of the bunch last year, was it last year?).
Has anyone managed to get two so far?
2 for 5, but that was a couldn’t-miss one.
Well I’m not gonna do well in predictions tonight. time to get drunk and enjoy!
I am sure with Toy Story 3, everyone scored one point!
Toy Story 3 wins, surprising no one.
They’re going fast.
Well, damn. So far the only one right from my guessing ballot is TS3.
Happy for Pfister, he’s a fantastic cinematographer.. But god fucking damnit, I’m so depressed to see Roger Deakins turn into that sound mixing guy of the cinematography world.
im 3-5, should have gone with leo. damn
Why are people bemoaning their bad prediction records? It’s fun when things get messy. And I’d say “The Social Network”‘s chances of getting best film are looking better, now that “The King’s Speech” is 0 for 3.
TKS wasn’t projected to win in two of its three losses (in the other, it was a contender).
Looks like “True Grit” is going to be one of the biggest losers in Oscar history. Both of its horses struck out.
I’m kind of diggin this whole juxtaposition with the “young” generation and the reminiscing of years past…pretty nifty touch. Hopefully it will not get annoying.
Loved Kirk Douglas…
And Sorkin ftw!
Frank Lee,
Because we want to win the pool!
King’s Speech 1, Social Network 1.
F the King’s Speech. And the disrespect for Christopher Nolan continues…
Now THAT’s how you give an Oscar speech, re: David Seidler.
