‘127 Hours’ trailer

Posted by · 2:42 pm · October 7th, 2010

Interesting. For some reason I wasn’t anticipating another trailer for Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours,” but I suppose that teaser we got a few months back was bound to be updated with something more robust. The new trailer landed today via Apple and is, I’d say, well structured, framed by one of the film’s more abstract moments with Best Actor contender James Franco. Check it out by clicking the image below or watch the embed after the jump.

Nice trailer, better than the last one. Feels more representative of the film itself, while the teaser seemed more like it was a wham-bam adventure movie.

I really like the poster too, no idea if that’s new but I hadn’t seen it before.

Have you seen Howl, Tapley? I saw it last night and though the movie wasn’t great, I thought Franco was incredible.

In fairness it said “one of the greatest performances of all time”. Still maybe a bit over the top (can’t say not having seen the film) but not quite as definitive as you make out.

90 minutes of Franco entrapment. Yeah I guess I’ll give it shot.

Chad: Saw “Howl” today. Thought Franco was committed, but I felt him straining for the mannerisms at points.

Off Topic: Does anyone know the piece of music from the True Grit trailer at the start? Not Johnny Cash but the music in the first half of the trailer.

I liked that trailer a lot more than the initial one. I might just have to pop a xanax and go see it when it opens here in NYC.

Okay, the teaser was awful, but this was tremendously winning. Looks very emotional – I was tearing up at just the trailer!

That was a much stronger trailer than the teaser, it gives a fuller taste of what the movie will be like and what kind of emotional hardship it will be to watch. Plus no random Danny Boyle movie references. I am much more excited now.

Didn’t see much in Franco’s performance in “Howl.” As for “127 Hours” (which I saw at TIFF), I think the film is vastly overpraised, but it’s the first time I’ve really seen what all the fuss over Franco is about (well, aside from “Pineapple Express”). Tremendous performance.

Somehow the last shot of the trailer has got to me already, I’m assuming its from when he is finally escaping his prison but I could be wrong. Either way I’m looking more and more forward to this thang.

Franco looks to give an incredible performance from this new trailer, which is vastly superior to the first one. The film looks very good, so perhaps the early hype is justified.

Wow! Just a trailer; but Franco looks imcredible. Like this trailer. I also liked the first trailer. It tended a lot more to the adventure side; but it also depicted as to what Rolston was about.

Nice trailer. I think the teaser trailer was fine. It was a TEASER, it shouldn’t have carried as much weight as this one…this one being the full theatrical trailer. Plus that teaser seemed to be aimed at folks who had not a clue about this movie/story…not people who track potential Oscar-worthy films all year. I like the poster as well.
