The first one is, in my view, the most dated movie OF ALL TIME. But it’s good fun.

OK, the good:
The golden watch, the money clip, the cell phone joke. Perfect set-up. Very funny.
Shia’s delivery.
Speaking of which, Douglas still got it (awesome).
The bad:
The fish-out-of-the-water scene as Gordon looks on the hip-hop gs getting into a limo. Real Gordon Gecko wouldn’t look suprised. He’d be with it and on it from day one.
Carey Mulligan – she annoys me so.
Absense of Sheen.
The last scene makes “Gordon” look like a pedophile.
Overall though, much much better than Basic Instinct 2.

Wealthy filmmaker with 50 million net worth bashing the rich in a film? Michael Moore must be furious, he was the first with this concept.

this looks wayyyy more fun than I expected. I hope Shia can prove if he can act with this.

Stone was never free of hypocracy but you are missing the point here. In his films, Stone wasn’t speaking out against wealth itslelf (or even excess that came with it) but how it was earned: i.e., all the dirty tricks that the rich use.
Your jab at Moore is equally moronic, especially considering how much he gave away.

In all fairness to myself I just hate Stone what he did to NBK.
Maxim: How did Carey Mulligan manage to annoy you in this?
This looks like it could be campy fun — it’s hardly stepping on sacred ground, after all. And the cellphone gag is priceless.

According to IMDB, Sheen is in this movie. Probably a cameo.

I’m not sure what to make of this. I agree with Guy that this seems to have a more campy feeling then the original. But, it’s hard to tell exactly from the trailer. I’m sure Michael Douglas had a blast reinhabiting this character again. I’ll take a wait and see approach with this one. Might be good fun.
Since I can’t muster the energy or interest to see the original, I guess I’ll have to pass on this too.

“Come on now Kris, 5000 cuts seems a bit unnecessary.”
No, not that was a masterpiece of cutting. Unlike Bay or Greengrass, the editing style of this picture was not only superb, it made perfect sense and added to the sense of mistery, lies and confusion of that film. Not a huge fan of Stone’s at all but I do love JFK and happen to like the Original Wall street too.

I just don’t find interesting that’s all. For some reason her presence here annoyed me. I don’t know nor do I claim to be right.

It made it impossible for me to get into the film. I really don’t like a random set up shot of an eagle in the desert followed 1 second later by a bad extra’s eyes, followed 1 second later by an eagle in the desert, followed one second later by the back of Woddy Harlson’s head. Stone had no idea how to touch the dialog either, it was rushed and it was flimsy.
I dont know if anyone on this site read Tarantino’s NBK screenplay, but in it theres a campy self righteous film based on Mickey and Mallory called “Thrill Killers” I’ve always thought of Stone’s NBK as exactly what Thrill Killers was supposed to be, had Tarantino made NBK.

the cellphone thing was hilarious but “Money Never Sleeps” is more ridiculous and annoying than “Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire”
This trailer makes me smile. I like it. It looks silly and absurd, and that’s why. That phone gag IS golden.
Mary, spoken like someone who actually hasn’t seen any of his movies.

Hmm I loved NBK. Woody and Juliette are awesome.
However I am getting a bad vibe from this Wall Street trailer. The old wireless phone and black guy getting into a limo are both pretty corny. I was hoping Stone would try to be a little more serious with this project.

NBK may be one of the most childish, tonally confused, absurd films ever made. I’m a little surprised you call it a “masterpiece,” Kris, considering that many of your criticisms of Inglourious Basterds could easily apply to Oliver Stone’s creative nadir.
On the subject of the film, I have to admit, I’m now sort of intrigued.

I accept the fact that the final movie of NBK doesn’t resemble much of Tarantino’s original screenplay – I know this because few little of the dialogue spoke in the film sounds at all like him.

I need to put the first one on my queue.

You mean turn it into a masterpiece?

Carey Mulligan looks ridiculously out of place, probably much to her credit. This looks like a crapfest.
nice poster!
is it a parodic trailer? or does it seem a few ridiculious?
can I just say, this looks good? I have to agree that it looks campy and maybe thats a good damn thing, I hope they didnt take this so serious.
Oh and CAREY LOOKED ADORABLE
Hopefully the music used in the trailer is not a foretelling of the score.
How can Carey Mulligan possibly annoy anyone in this trailer? She’s in it for maybe one second.

the original Wall Street is a Top 10 80’s movie.
I’m a fan of Stone, but NBK was a piece of shit.
