Today is 9-9-09, and we all know what that means: the theatrical release of Shane Acker’s animated film “9.” Seriously, how serendipitous can you get with a release date?
Anyway, with the film’s release comes an opportunity to win some goodies from the film. We’ve got a nice picture book, which comes in its own nifty burlap sack, as well as a satchel featuring some of that burlap design and a neat-o 9-9-09 button.
So here’s how to win. A trivia question!
What is the other significance of the September 9 date as it pertains to a different film very much in the fall movie discussion?
First to answer correctly wins.

“Up in the Air” trailer released?

September 9, 1828 is Leo Tolstoy’s birthday. Does that count?
I believe the answer is “Nine”.
That looks so cool
Rob Marshall’s Nine?
Georgie wins.
2012?
It was the day Gone With the Wind was first premiered in Riverside, California.
Kris, I love the fact that you’re doing this but having the first one posting the right answer win is a bit unfair since it opens it up for people being randomly online and happening to be able to answer it. It cancels out most of your readers.
Just something that’s been bothering me about this system, otherwise it’s great that you’re giving away these goodies. Just try and have more people get a chance to win!
Gives you incentive to obsessively read In Contention, though, eh?
Don’t we already?
Clearly not enough!
Kidding, of course. I understand your beef but we rarely do contests and it’s generally something quick like this. If we did them frequently I’d understand but I really don’t know a better way for now.
Of course, we had the haiku contest. I guess we could do stuff like that. Feel free to offer some suggestions.
The Haiku was good. But I’m not a very creative person so anything that requires me to be just that leaves me without a chance ;).
Perhaps some sort of scavenger hunt?
Now you’re getting into territory defeated by my laziness. :)
Laziness? I see Up in the Air had no lasting effect on your life.
How about you announce a date and time when there is going to be a contest so that those who want to participate are able to. Something like tomorrow at three. Although I kind of like the spontaneity of this system.
