I can’t wait for the DVD cover for this movie. I’d bed money that the Weinsteins use a picture of Viggo minus the beard. It’d be very “Transamerica” of them (as in, they used a “Desperate Housewives” shot for the cover instead of an image of Huffman in her transgender look).

I really dug all the clips for this. I remain cautiously optimistic.
It’s one of those rare situations where the ideal director, actor and rock solid adaption are all there. Fingers crossed, despite increasing bad w-o-m.

DAMN!!! Duvall knocked it out of the park…start the supporting actor campaign!!!

Whenever I see the title of this film I can’t help but think of Tenacious D’s song of the same name.
Still have to read the book. Must get around to that some time.

Ouch, Kodi Smit-McPhee spoke not more than three words in that clip and he already got on my nerves.
Is that really the best part of The Road?
JFK
I respectfully disagree and I believe Kodi Smit-McPhee is the best part of The Road.

If you’re right, JFK, then that clip was a terrible representation of his performance.
El Rocho
Wow. I can’t wait!

Kris…do you think that it’s possible, or even likely, that people like myself who haven’t read the book, might get a considerable amount more out of the film??
How much of your mild dislike for The Road stems from the fact that your comparing the film to the book, and how much is just you not liking the film on it’s own terms?? I know that it can be difficult to make that distinction, but I’m just curious.

Robert, check out the other clips from the movie on YouTube. The one with Viggo and Kodi in the house. From what they show there, Kodi looks superb.
JFK
Agreed SE, for some reason people have decided to give Kodi a bad wrap, when the reality is that he carries the film. I don’t even think that Viggo’s performance holds a flame to Kodi.
