Helena Bonham-Carter looks silly, that blow up looks a little cheap. Depp’s fingernails is where I hope this film is going, somewhere dark, and not his face, 2 dollar make up. And Anne Hathaway looks amazing! I usually find her annoying, but I might actually enjoy her in this.

Wow. I’m excited. Johnny Depp looks like a cross between Ronald McDonald and Willy Wonka, but I don’t care. The blow-up on Helena Bonham-Carter feels cartoonish, and as for Anne Hathaway, the hair reminds me of LOTR.

Actually, Hathaway looks like a cross between Saruman and Kate Winslet to me.
In many ways Ive loved much of Burtons work. Despite his flaws Im a big fan of Batman Returns and Edward Schissorhands. Having said that I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory UNTIL Johnny Depp shows up. Burton went too far in his weirdness. That performance was awful and way off the rails. Depp was no Gene Wilder and he kills the film. He’s just creepy as Wonka. These pics look like Burton is going to far once again and way off the mainstream. Can’t believe thats the direction Disney wants.
