I’ve been quasi-fascinated with Duncan Jones’s “Moon” ever since early talk was making its way out of Sundance back in January. Sam Rockwell really looks to be turning in a special performance and the general anxiety inside me that hopes to see another amazing space film finally stick the landing (Danny Boyle’s “Sunshine” came SO close) has me waiting with bated breath.
The trailer was released last week and today we get a look at the poster. Both are below (though forgive the annoying IGN watermark on the trailer, which is apparently on every single YouTube embed. Gotta raise that awareness!)

Star Trek, Moon, Avatar. 2009 looks to be the rebirth of SciFi., Im hopeful, its been a while.
Love that poster
If I were to update my predictions, I’d have to add Rockwell to my best actor list. Looks to be an amazing performance.
Very excited for this…I really like the idea of Kevin Spacey as a robot for some reason. And obviously, the poster is fantastic.
Reminds me “Robinson Crusoe on Mars.” Can’t wait.
“That’s no moon…”
Maybe an acting nomination for Rockwell, but even if this movie delivers in spades, the Academy treats sci-fi like crap. How many of those films have been nominated for Best Picture? I think you can count them on one hand.
And boy, are you right on the money with Sunshine, Kris. It was the same feeling I had with Collateral. “Wow, this is such an amazing mo………..what the hell?!?!?”
This trailer definitely peaks my interest…
Not to be grammar patrol (and lord knows I’m guilty of plenty oversights), in the future, to steer clear of the assholes who live to correct this sort of thing, the word is actually “pique,” Michael.
Tapley, I’ve got it on DVD if you wanna borrow it. It’s good, but it’s not great. Same with Sam’s performance. I wasn’t WOWed. It is VERY well directed by Jones, but the best thing in the film is the music. Haunting.
Plan on seeing it at Tribeca. It’s probably my most anticipated of the entire festival.
Glad to see it getting some pub.
I think this film is going to be tremendous, both as a movie and a vehicle for the too-long ignored Sam Rockwell. I wouldn’t knock on a Best Actor nomination, even this soon in the year. I guarantee he and the movie will be talked about come 2010.
Two hours of Sam Rockwell? Sign me up.
