Granted, this might NOT be the poster art for the upcoming “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” but generally, when an image like this lands at the official Apple trailer page, it tends to end up on the one-sheet (same deal on the cover of the soundtrack). Color me disappointed:

I have the feeling that AUSTRALIA will be the epic nominee instead of TCCOBB
Australia
The Dark Knight
Milk
The Reader
Slumdog Millionaire
thats pretty lame if its actually the poster art. i hope the one sheet will be very very different
We shouldn’t start questioning the quality of the movie itself because of this poster. But you’re right, it’s pretty lame…
It’s look like it should be on a bottle of cologne or some fragrance. Lame indeed. But, the movie will be good. I have HIGH hopes.

It looks*
Watched the second trailer again on the site. Masterful. One concern: Does Cate Blanchett contractually refuse to be aged or something? In ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE, she was supposed to be playing the queen in her 50s, but had no make-up, and in this as Pitt seems to have aged backwards a substantial period and Blanchett looks the same. Hopefully I’m wrong.
Eh, who cares? The movie’s gonna be phenomenal, a silly poster art isn’t going to change that.
Ivan, in the ‘case’ that ‘Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ bombs and doesn’t make the Top 5, then yes, I agree that your list of 5 looks to be the 5 that would be nommed. Great list.
generally when a poster like this shows up on the apple site is not that it will become the one-sheet, it’s that there is no one-sheet yet and somebody makes one up…
this looks like a magazine cover, one of those that EW always does when both stars are big and they take the cover….
even the “LIFE LIFE” thing behind the title looks lame and amateur and photoshop…
plus this is david fincher, he never has a lame poster…
This is a clean and striking look with two gorgeous movie stars on it and I’m not sure why everyone thinks it’s so bloody awful????
i have the feeling like Benjamin Button is being torpedo’d by itself. Average trailers and lousy campaign posters, just doesnt look good

Looks like we might be getting something a little special after all…
[…] pointing out this blurry glimpse of the “Benjamin Button” one-sheet on /Film. As Kris anticipated yesterday, it employs the same rather bland artwork that appeared on the film’s Apple trailer […]
Still better than Australia’s poster, and not doing much to diminish anticipation for the film.
