I liked the teaser better, thought it was more powerful, but nonetheless, this looks like a great old-fashioned epic romance and I always have money to buy a ticket to one of those.

Is that the voice of Brad Pitt as the kid. It seems really familiar.

This one and Revolutionary Road are going to be the flops of the year….box office wise
I also preferred the teaser, but my God, this looks gorgeous. I’m also quite glad this gives us a clearer indication of the performances, which look uniformly excellent.
Are people underestimating Blanchett’s chances of a Best Actress nomination? It may be a secondary role, but it looks like a good performance (as always) and she’s comfortably in the club these days. If the film itself takes flight, I think she could easily become a default nominee if some of the more hyped actresses trip up.
I also took notice of the performances, Guy, and i have to say i’m a bit worried about Taraji Henson’s prospects of Oscar. Because it seems that Blanchett’s role is larger and it’s the central female one. Other than that i liked the trailer, and i’m excited about the movie. It seems it could deliver.

I loved the teaser, but I like a lot the trailer. Maybe Blanchett goes to Lead Actress Cateogry (Even when she’s not the co-lead) and Henson goes to Supporting. Blanchett is an talented actress and famous star so obviously another supproting is not very likely. I think this is finally Pitt’s lifetime role and is big to ignore at AMPAS, even when he’s not the best, he’s a good actor with great performances since the 90s and he’s always try to chance his limits. PLUS: Ratings for Brangelina

MY GOD.
I love this trailer.
There are some images that are tremendous.
I think it’s still the frontrunner.
Troy
The quick shot of the backwards war scene looks amazing.
I agree with Kris, sort of. I don’t hate it, but it’s not a particularly great trailer. It shows way to much and in such a chronological order that there doesn’t feel like there’s much we can’t gather from it.
I must say Cate Blanchett looks a bit… off, but it IS only the trailer.
Still the movie looks gorgeous and I’m sure it’s great but this just does not look like it’ll be up Oscar’s alley.

of course it shows a lot. this film is going to be about the details of his life. they shouldn’t be hiding anything in marketing because the story is already laid out. people who want to see this film will see it based on wanting to see the details of the life of Benjamin Button

And do I hear some lovely Desplat score in there?
A bit Forrest Gump-ish early in the trailer.

I want this to sweep it all. And I think I’m still going to want that when it’s all said and done. Sometimes you just get that feeling.
This is this year’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford for me.
I’ll just say it: I really, REALLY don’t like this trailer.
What!?!?! Kris, how could you not like it? This is one of the better trailers that’s come out this year.
Honestly, I had my doubts about this movie, until this trailer came out. I still have some doubts, but I’m totally psyched about the movie now.
