When I was in Paris two years ago, I actually went to a McDonald’s just so that I could order a Royal with cheese in French. I ordered a beer, too. Mission complete!
When in Paris, a visit to the Latin Quarter is an absolute must, especially at night.

I remember asking a Dutch friend if they really ate mayo with fries, but of course I can’t remember what she said. I seem to recall some kind of cop-out answer like “I don’t eat fries.”

Liz – yes, the Dutch do indeed eat mayo with fries (or chips, on this side of the pond), as do a number of Europeans. So do I. It’s the connoisseur’s choice.
