I’m catching Bruce Springsteen tonight and tomorrow night over at the Sports Arena here in Los Angeles. He hasn’t played my favorite tune on the tour yet — “Spirit in the Night” — so here’s hoping for a pleasant surprise. “The Wrestler” has been a regular feature, however, and I’m sure he’ll play it either tonight or tomorrow. I’ll try to grab a video of the performance with my still camera if he rocks it out.
Gone for the rest of the night. Call this an open thread if you have anything on your mind (though it’s been a pretty sleepy week).

Saw him at the Meadowlands last summer, it was amazing. Just watch out for the Oldies medley at the end. Mystifying, but I guess he understands his demographics.
Also apparently I was at the show where he met with Darren Aronofsky backstage and first played him The Wrestler. Very cool.
I’ve seen him four times, including once in London. Best show I’ve ever seen.
I’ve only seen him once because he only comes to Australia every fifteen years or so (or at leas that’s how it feels). He hasn’t been here since 2003.
I like his performance of “Spirit” in Barcelona where he forgets the words. Quite fond of when singer-songwriters forget the words to their own songs – same thing happened when I saw Sarah McLachlan a few years back. Forgot the words to “Angel”, of all songs.
Well, he did indeed play “Spirit of the Night.” And blew the roof off. I was directly in front of the stage, about 3 feet back. Best night ever.

Why would you have to watch out for that? 70’s Bruce is about ten times better than 00’s Bruce.
That’s true, I prefered the old one.
Lev Lewis, when I saw him in Jersey he played ‘Twist and Shout’ for what seemed like 10 minutes. Of course I didn’t mean his own material. And yes, obviously.
Yeah, he tore a hole in the universe with that track. I thought I was going to scream my lungs out when I saw the fan sign reading “Spirit in the Night” that he pulled up on stage.
AWESOME. Gonna get that video of “The Wrestler” up in a bit. I had crappy seats yesterday, though, so it won’t be the best quality. Tonight I’ll be much closer.
No medley, though. I’ve rarely heard that, actually.
Bridgeman is my last name…weird.
I love Bruce, my parents took me to three or four Bruce concerts when i was younger, but now i definitely have more of an appreciation for the boss.
I finally saw Knowing yesterday, i actually really liked it, of course it had kitsch Nicholas Cage moments (“YOU WANT SOME OF THIS!?”) but I found it to be pretty good for something that should have been absolute garbage.
Kris: Have you seen Observe & Report Yet? I know you loved Pineapple Express, and I’d love to hear your opinion on what I consider to be the far superior of the two.
My bad BurmaShave, I thought you were referring to his own songs.
JAB: Not yet. Somehow my desire to see it disappeared a few weeks ago when screenings were going around and I haven’t made it to the theater yet. Maybe this weekend.
I love the awesome Boss Google ad that’s on this post at the top, by the way.
