Tell us what you thought of ‘Megamind’

DreamWorks Animation’s “Megamind” is opening wide today, so maybe more of you will be able to see it and comment. I’ve had my say (including a back and forth with Anne about the film on Oscar Talk this morning). But I’d be interested to hear what you all think. Once (or if) you see it, cut loose with your thoughts in the comments section below.

Saw it with my nephew today, not a great movie but an enjoyable one with some very good gags. I also saw it in Imax where I have to say the 3D visuals were impressive.

Pixar films are cinematic gold and modern classics. Dreamworks flicks, Ice Age sequels, The Incredibles knockoffs, Happy Feet Owls version are pure pop trash!!

I found “Megamind” to be the most pure fun I’ve had at the theaters all year. It’s not close to eclipsing “The Incredibles”, but I found it somewhat more entertaining than “How to Train Your Dragon”. It sticks to its Dreamworks pedigree, and really shines within that standard.

I liked it. It’s not as good as HTTYD, but it’s easy to see that Dreamworks is definitely stepping up their game.

I find it hard to believe it’s better than How to Train Your Dragon.

I never said it was better than “How to Train Your Dragon”. I simply said it was more entertaining, which it is in quite a few ways. “Dragon” is a lot more weighed down by the constant threat of what would happen if everything went wrong, while “Megamind” just has such a vivid liveliness that’s simply endearing and keeps things light and fun.
