    “their finest film since Fargo”
Even with ‘No Country’ as the best picture winner, they always go back to ‘Fargo’.

Now that is cool. Good job!

Fargo is still their best, IMHO.

As Joseph II would say: well, there it is.

Incontention has been legitimized by the mainstream media.

    Awesome man, that is great.

At first I thought it was that the guy from The Big Bang Theory was in the movies, lol.

I think it WAS the guy from The Big Bang Theory.
His name in the series was Howard, right?

To be fair, “they” were quoting from Kris, who was never a fan of No Country for Old Men.

It is the guy from Big Bang Theory, Simon Helberg.

Is that your first mention in TV, Kris? If so, congratulations. If not, cool anyways.

I think so. Unless I missed something along the way the last few years. I had some print quotes for Children of men and The Bourne Ultimatum, I know for sure. John’s been quoted on some things out of Toronto. Guy has too, I think, but I don’t watch a lot of TV spots so I depend on folks like Mr. Young to give me the heads up!

    A proud moment. Congrats.

As Kris says, we’re often not aware of where our words are getting quoted, so feel free to point things out to us if you spot them.

I know it was the guy from the Big Bang, I thought that Kris was posted the video to refer to that, but when i paused the video, I say the url under a quote.

It’s too bad they’re ruining that incredible line in the trailer.

Wow, Kris, I didn’t know you and Roger Ebert and every critic used so many exclamation points. Seriously, I think a statement like “their finest film since ‘Fargo’” already says everything–the exclamation point cheapens it a bit, plus it’s not true to the way you wrote it. But regardless, we’re all proud of you, Kris, you mensch, you. Congrats.

Adam: The best was “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

    These quotes:

“Spinning author Robert Ludlum’s spy novel trilogy away from its Cold War settings and into a modernized realm, the adaptations – writer Tony Gilroy the common denominator at every step – have been nothing short of sizzling in their willingness to stray, while remaining true to the essence of the novels and their captivating central character.”

    and

“Jason Bourne has become the role by which Damon’s early career will be defined. What James Bond was to Sean Connery, what Michael Corleone was to Al Pacino, Jason Bourne has become for Matt Damon.”

    and

“I don’t know about you, but this is why I go to the movies.”

    became:

“Sizzling! This is why I go to the movies. What Michael Corleone was to Al Pacino, Jason Bourne has become for Matt Damon.”

But hey, I said the words. Fair game to mix and match I guess. Just like when Roger Ebert gave a complete pan of “Little Nicky” but managed to call the film Sandler’s best in the copy. That line was lifted for publicity and he was okay with it.

Note to Kris, THIS is the time to sell out. From now on make sure you mention in every review of every film that it’s “one of this year’s best films” or “this year’s best film so far” or “Nicholas Cage’s best film in years” etc. Or you can just refer to everything as “captivating” and “mesmerizing” (two words that nobody other than film critics will ever use).

Should Ben Lyons watch out now, Kris?

I suppose my “Their finest film since Burn After Reading” doesn’t sound quite as good.
