Jason Reitman is proving very forthcoming when it comes to sharing details of his progress on “Up in the Air” via Twitter. Earlier today, he divulged the film’s running time as 108 minutes — surely music to the ears of those of us weary of Hollywood’s increasingly bloated productions.
And speaking of music, he just posted this cute pic of composer Rolfe Kent barefoot at work. “The score is coming to life,” apparently. Apropos of nothing, really, but it’s a slowish day and I’m really starting to look forward to this film. Are you?

Mmmmmmm @ trailer for Gilliam’s new movie.
It’s building hype and we all are responsible for that.
I’ve got to admit that it hasn’t really been on my radar until I heard about the very positive reactions from the test screenings. That’s actually gotten me pretty excited for it.
It’s actually locked at 1:48 see paste of his twitter below:
And we’re locked. 1 hour 48 min. http://twitpic.com/d12a76:34 AM Aug 7th from TwitterFon
Between this and Kris’s link to the early test screenings this is sounding better and better. I wasn’t really looking foward to this despite liking Juno and Thank You for Smoking. Now its moved to one of my most anticipated films.
So has no one seen the film with it’s score?
I,for one, can’t wait for this one.
Will this comment get through?
It’s NOT what you posted, it’s per Reitman’s own tweet:
And we’re locked. 1 hour 48 min. http://twitpic.com/d12a76:34 AM Aug 7th from TwitterFon
Um, like Guy said: 108 minutes.
There’s no end credits on a movie that’s been locked in editing.
@New Kid/Guest: I’ll break it down for you:
1 hour = 60 minutes
48 minutes = 48 minutes
Ergo:
1 hour 48 minutes = 60 minutes + 48 minutes = 108 minutes
Does that clarify things for you?
New Kid, in the words of Tom Waits, hang down your head. Truly pathetic.
