‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’ UK trailer

Sorry for the run of lazy posts, but I know a lot of you have been champing at the bit for this one. Make of it what you will … there appears to be more than enough quirk and baroque visual clutter here to keep the Gilliamites in thrall. (Oddly enough, I just passed through one of the key locations here on my morning run. “They should use this in more movies,” I thought to myself. Et voilĂ .)

I’m reserving judgment. But I will say that it’s both disorienting and weirdly comforting to see Heath Ledger in a trailer for something fresh. That’s never happening again.

Looks interesting. I’m a big fan of Ledger so I will definitely see it. Nothing has really been shown of Law and Farrell, I’m hoping it all works out to be a really good movie.

each time i watch it i like it more. i was expecting it to be a bit more dark, but it’s just a trailer so i can’t really say. some of the visuals remind me of baron munchausen (which i love). gilliam has annoyed me a bit of late w/ that vanity fair piece, but this is still the movie i’m most looking forward to.

It looks really great and captivating. It’s all so crazy, not only with the surrounding circumstances.

I think that’s a great trailer. It absolutely piqued my interest with the visuals and the music. I would have been at the front of the line on Ledger, Depp and Gilliam anyway but with a pleasantly surprising trailer like this I’m looking forward to it as much as any film on the horizon.

Not a fan of Gilliam’s, but this actually does look like it could be decent. The only movie of his I’ve really enjoyed is 12 Monkeys.

That trailer reminds me of the 80s fantasy movies. I’m scared for it.

“Nothing’s permanent. Not even death.” Very powerful line in light of Ledger’s passing and yes–its awesome to see the words “Academy Award Winner Heath Ledger”

This looks fantastic. So much talent in front of and behind the camera.

Side note… this could be a very good year for Farrell (following an already good one). Fresh off his Golden Globe win, I think he has a very good shot at being a Best Actor contender for “Triage” judging by what I’ve heard about it. I just ordered the book. Also, “Ondine” sounds like it will be a nice Irish fantasy film. Both will be at Toronto and I think “Triage” may be a Venice too. We’ll know more about his chances then. Also, it doesn’t hurt that he is in such good company in this movie either.
