So I was sitting down for a casual interview with Nicolas Winding Refn this evening, after seeing his ABSOLUTELY AMAZING OMFG FILM “Drive” at a special screening. Guy Pearce walks up with Tom Hardy in tow, so I couldn’t pass up the photo op. As you know, “Bronson” was comfortably one of my top 10 films of 2009. And I managed to not utter the words “Dark,” “Knight” or “Rises” while chatting briefly with the classy and ultra cool Hardy. I hope these two work together again soon.

I hope my anticipation for Drive doesn’t become insurmountable. Nevertheless, are we going to get an extended reaction Kris?
Every clip I see, trailer I see, response I read about ‘Drive’ gets me excited more & more.
I’m pretty jealous right now. But thrilled to hear you’re as besotted with Drive as I was, Kris.
Wow. With Guy AND Kris in unison and this brand new trailer I’m a little scared I will ruin this film for me with pre-excitement or unreasonably high expectations. I mean, how often do you see Kris go “absolutely amazing omfg” for a film?

I see Chandler Bing and Joey–roommates back again.
An update on the Midnight with Paris, second viewing. SPOILER ALERT. Marion Cotillard played the same role in Inception–choosing to live in an alternate world. Hopefully, a good campaign will land Marion Cotillard another Best Supporting Actress nomination.
We saw Guy Pearce having dinner with Carey Mulligan and a few others last night at the restaurant we were eating at. Hated to not get a picture, but I refuse to be the person who bothers them while they eat.
silly question, but who is the guy on the left next to Tom Hardy? :)
Can’t wait for Drive…
RichardA: Another Best Supporting Actress nomination? I think you’ve mentally transferred your enthusiasm for her performance in Inception to the Academy. Happens to everyone now and again. ;)
Alex: That’s Refn.
Kyle: That makes you better than most.
Everybody I read just flat out raved Drive. Like whoppie-dude what a magnificent movie.
Gosh, gotta see it!
So once again Guy Pearce is relegated to the sidelines. Who’s this man’s agent?!!
Yeah, I’d say any film Guy AND Kris mutually flip for has to be on the radar.
What about poor man Pearce? No picture?
Was Hardy there for “Warrior”? And I’m guessing that’s what his shirts says?? Ha.
Speaking of which, Kris when do you get to screen that film? I’m a bit antsy about it.
I haven’t heard. Need to do the legwork and get into a screening.
Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t get the headline.
It’s from Bronson. I think.
Its nice to see critics get behind Brooks, because even if its a genre film, certain praise cannot be ignored.
Definitely excited for Drive! Off topic: Kris, are you gonna have a “Tell us what you thought” thread for Captain America?
