‘The Tourist’ poster

Posted by · 10:12 pm · September 30th, 2010

The trailer for Sony’s “The Tourist” hit a few weeks ago and revealed what looks to be a frothy romp with Johnny Depp giving fun performance.  Today we get a look at the poster for the film, which, I’m sorry to see, is latching on to a recent trend of boxed in imagery framed by a solid color.  Where’s the creativity?  Ugh.  Anyway, check out the full image after the jump (and be sure to check back tomorrow for an exclusive look at another poster for one of the season’s most anticipated efforts).

Ok… What a way to promote the film but to put Depp and Jolie’s face in the poster! Can’t they think of other options..

It resembles to me the poster of Notes on a Scandal… You know, one of the lead in a side view and and the other one, looking infront?

I’m still checking out the film though..

At least the “Notes on a Scandal” poster use colour. This is just dull and ugly, which is a strange way to describe a poster with these two actors on it. Boring, too.

Is it just me or is Depp looking like Billy Crystal’s younger brother with that beard? ;-)

Watching the teaser trailer lulled me to sleep a couple of weeks ago, and this poster didn’t make it any better I’m afraid. Although the combination of von Donnersmarck, Venice and two of Hollywoods most talented (and beautiful) stars still teases me… Let’s wait and see. Could be an entertaining “Christmas treat” at least.

They should have replaced Jolie and Depp with Dalton and Berkoff. Then it would work.

It’s terrible but nothing sucks harder than the Changeling poster in 2008. MAN that one was awful.

@P.: I’m a woman and I LOVE Angie. Hate Jen, though, sorry Guy. :)

Meh. Still not excited for this film, but Depp looks amusing and I’m surprised to say that since he is sort of a hit or miss for me lately.

The trailer and poster are underwhelming, but …

    Depp
    Jolie
    Holiday release
    Mainstream sensibilities
    Prestigious technical team
    etc.

“IT ALL STARTED WHEN HE MET A WOMAN.”

Oh, please. However quirky or unshaven, Johnny Depp would NEVER have problems meeting women.
