“What are they gonna say about him?  Are they gonna say he was a kind man?  He was wise man?  He had plans?  He had wisdom?”

It’s up to those of us left to have that say, I suppose.  He’ll live forever.  Ride easy.

I wonder how many people (especially my age) really appreciate the influence that man had on cinema with Easy Rider?

Definitely not enough…(guessing that we are probably about the same age if you had to mention it..)

I saw Easy Rider in an intro to film class about five years ago. Everyone hated it, and the prof didn’t explain its significance that well. I thought about the film for days after, and now I own the dvd.

Somewhere in Heaven, Frank Capra is being told he’s descended from Moors.

I’ll always appreciate his turn as the villain-mastermind in 24 season 1. He was awesome, sans accent. His surprise inclusion solidified the best and only good season of 24.

His Frank Booth in “Blue Velvet” is among the all time great supporting actor performances — what is interesting is that since he passed, CNN, and the major news outlets are not so much discussing his death and how he died, but instead how he lived!! And Hopper did indeed live!!! That’s how to be remembered. And no, people do not fully appreciate his impact on the New American Cinema of the sixties and seventies, which is a shame.
