What happened was the director and I had a bad difference over the direction of the film that resulted in a lawsuit that has settled amicably out of court. But there have been all these events around the Oscars, and I wasn’t invited to any of them. And he’s not speaking to me. So we weren’t even able to discuss ahead of the time who would be the one person allowed to speak if we won. And then, as I’m sure you saw, when we won, he raced up there to accept the award. And his mother took her cane and blocked me. So I couldn’t get up there very fast.

As for this speech, I had absolutely no idea what was going on – but it was entertaining none the less…
Lady-in-Purple just looked like an ass. End of story. I’m sorry she fucked up the win for the film.

Wait a minute. The winner of the short Oscars goes to the director, right? She had no right to go up there. There’s no “who decides” discussion. The Oscar is his and she was in the wrong for busting up the show like that. Peeps best not be spinning this ish in her favor. And to think she brought sexism into the arguement on a historical night for woman in the industry. Shame on you…shame on you!

the oscar goes to the producers and she was one of the producers and won the award along with him.
Fair enough but she still wasn’t the designated “speaker” and the fact that she left the project (by her own accord) and did what she did kinda proves she’s bat sh*t insane. ;-D

That lady should be ashamed of herself. First off, the director was delivering a wonderful speech. And it was obvious that she was a senseless idiot. She had NOTHING of substance to say and she made a complete ass of herself. The director handled himself with complete decorum and class. I wanted to ring that woman’s neck for being so idiotic.
She made a fool of herself in front of millions of people. Classless.
