Guillermo Del Toro’s vampire novel “The Strain” (the first installment of a planned trilogy) has been hovering in my peripheral vision for a few weeks now, but I shot up and took notice when the filmmaker appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” last night to promote the novel. Sounds like a dark tale worth reading. I love Ferguson’s reaction to the direction vampire fiction has gone at the beginning of this clip:
