I’ve been dying to see this since Toronto last year. I’m also a Jeremy Renner fan and love to see him getting high notices for his work here. Plus, I’ll be on Kathryn Bigelow’s bandwagon until it crashes and burns.

Didn’t it crash and burn with K-19: The Widowmaker?
I’ve only seen one of her films, The Weight of Water, and it was god awful.
I have a special place for her. Yeah, I love Point Break. And Strange Days is great, too. K-19 had a lot of ideas that worked but on the whole, it was a miss, yes. But hardly a crash and burn.
Never saw The Weight of Water.
Does anyone know how big of a roll Ralph Fiennes has in this movie?
It looks good, but I think the movie is coming out too early in the year. Unless Summit puts on a fierce campaign, I’m afraid it will be forgotten by the time nominations come out.
Eh looks alright, I feel like the war is still to relevent to have movies made out of it, but I still hope its good, we’ll see
Is it really as good as many journalists claim it is? I mean there’s been quite some folks gushing over it for months now.
I liked K-19. Despite being overly done, but it was a very decent film.
I loved this movie. Saw it at ShoWest a few weeks ago late at night. You could tell most of the audience was there out of obligation but by the end of the movie everyone was enthralled. By far the tensest movie-going experience I have ever had. I firmly believe that if this was a different director the movie would be a lock for the lone director nomination.
Fiennes is in it for 5 minutes. Not a big roll at all. Same with Guy Pearce and Evangeline Lilly. Still, it’s the best movie I’ve seen all year. Renner is fucking awesome and Mackie is the shit.
It’s kind of like Top Gun. But in Iraq. Renner is Maverick.
Looks great! and Jeremy Renner definitely could make it in the actor race.
My bets for now
Morgan Freeman/The Human Factor
Javier Bardem/Biutiful
Jeremy Renner/The Hurt Locker
Matt Damon/The Informant
Daniel Day Lewis/ Nine
the backups
Ryan Gosling/All Good Things
Leonardo Dicaprio/Shutter Island
Viggo Mortensen/The Road
BenWishaw/Bright Star
Hugh Dancy/Adam

Maybe it’s just me but Jeremy Renner looks like an older version of Benjamin McKenzie
