Freida Pinto, Woody Allen and muse have been used in too many headlines

Freida PintoBut I guess that’s the truth of the matter.  The gorgeous “Slumdog Millionaire” star has been pegged to star alongside an increasingly talented ensemble in Woody Allen’s next flick.  Variety reports:

Freida Pinto will follow up her performance in the Oscar-winning “Slumdog Millionaire” with a role in Woody Allen’s latest project.

This year’s Cinderella at the Oscar ball will join the long list of Allen’s muses as she takes on the ingenue role in the helmer’s still-untitled pic.

Naomi Watts has also signed on to star in the film, joining the already-announced Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.

Mediapro, the Spain-based company behind “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” is financing the as-yet-titled pic, which will be produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures.

Wasn’t amazed by her performance in Slumdog, but she was definitely adequate enough considering she didn’t have much to do other than look pretty! The cast sounds amazing, hope the film doesn’t dissapoint!

I’m curious to see how she’ll do after Slumdog. See if she’ll actually stick around.

Considering she gave a non-performance in Slumdog and Woody ain’t going to be directing her, this will be interesting to see if she’s got the goods.

Hopkins, Brolin and Watts are all immensely talented. They should all be great with Allen’s writing and his famous hands-off directing style.

But Pinto? Sure, she’s hot, but can she act? Let’s hope she does or else she will look awful acting alongside those three above. I mean, her acting partners in this are not Dev Patel and a bad sandwich.

Muse is a bit silly at this point. Johansson is still his muse until proven otherwise.

Her job in Slumdog was to look pretty, and she knocked that out of the park. I’ll be interested to see what the movie is about, and who’s the lead (there are conflicting reports about it being Watts or Pinto)

I’m EXTREMELY happy however that both she and Dev Patel have more projects lined up. Even if they suck, it’s fantastic to have Indians in mainstream Hollywood projects.

I thought Dev Patel was English.

Well ok, he’s British-Indian, lol. I think you obviously know what I mean. Someone of Indian descent (and hey, since his parents were actually born in Africa, he’s like a triple minority!).

Kal Penn is getting old and Parminder Nagra never really took off.

Pinto did everything she was asked to do for Slumdog, which was not very much, but here’s hoping Allen could bring a really great performance from her.

I’m interested to see what size role she might get.

What a great cast. Will be the first time that Naomi and Hopkins work with Woody, so we can only hope for the better.
Because with all the comedy and comedians that America and the World have, Woody Allen is still the master and itВґs great to see his producing soo much. Even dramas like the wonderful Match Point.

Go, Woody! And this time is for the Oscar.

we were talking about this yesterday. In Slumdog she

    Helped make a sandwich
Look sort of scared with a fake knife pressed against her cheek
    And answer a cell phone.

    Literally. That’s it.

Allen is fascinating. I wonder how the call to Pinto went.

She did nothing in the movie, that is right, but Woody is very good working with actors. And is even better when they work with him for the 1st time, such Scarlett in Match Point(her best work so far) and Penelope( the fourth of Woody’s women to win).
So, we can only hope the best, for Freida and Naomi.

“Muse” is inappropriate at this time. For all we know she has a walk on. Woody has done that to many actresses who were more famous than Freida Pinto. You hear there name in the cast list. you get excited. Then they have one scene!

    Daryl Hannah, Elisabeth Shue, etcetera…

    who knows.

I agree, to say “muse” at this time is not proper, mustly because she haven’t worked for him yet.

This Woody “muse” stuff gets old. Remember when Scarlett was his muse? Granted he cranked out 2 very good films with her. But still….it’s quite obvious Woody likes the company of beautiful, younger ladies, that’s all.

I don’t get the fuss about her.

But what I find upsetting is that so many males find her sexy. She’s very pretty, but sexy ? I guess if you’re into 14-year old girls… oh wait, that’s why most straight guys are looking for, girls not women. Sorry my bad

I don’t recall too many 14 year-old girls from my high school days who looked like Freida Pinto. But then maybe that’s because she’s 24.

Anyway, she’s gorgeous whichever way you slice it. I’m no Oscar fashion-watcher, but she owned the red carpet on Sunday. Best by a mile.
