Bennett Miller’s opening montage sees the light of day

Apparently the following montage, which played for the audience at the Kodak Theatre Sunday night but was ultimately pulled from the televised rundown, has popped up as a Vanity Fair exclusive.  It’s directed by Bennet Miller and I have to say, it’s nice, has a good flow, but is a little film festival-esque.  Not “big enough for an opening Oscar number, I’d say.

Lots of interviews: William Friedkin, Robert Evans, Danny Boyle, I think I saw Scarlett Johansson in there, Roger Deakins, Janusz Kaminski, Flea (rocking out a Gus Van Sant T-shirt), Brett Ratner (ugh), Michael Stipe, etc.  Click on Kid Notorious below to have a look:

    they shoot sooo much of it ( i saw) why did it turned out like this…it should have been a lot better.

    I thought it was perfectly fine. No better or worse than any of the Errol Morris or Chuck Workman stuff that has played in the past.
