The annihilation of “Seven Pounds” continues apace, with a crucifying NYT review from A.O. Scott:
Frankly, though, I don’t see how any review could really spoil what may be among the most transcendently, eye-poppingly, call-your-friend-ranting-in-the-middle-of-the-night-just-to-go-over-it-one-more-time crazily awful motion pictures ever made. I would tell you to go out and see it for yourself, but you might take that as a recommendation rather than a plea for corroboration. Did I really see what I thought I saw?
Ouch. With a Metacritic score hovering at 35, do we have our annual fallen-prestige-film Razzie contender right here? Memo to Gabriele Muccino: return to Italy, strip things back and make another “The Last Kiss” to remind people why Hollywood was excited to have you in the first place.

Man, the ending to the Italian Last Kiss was stellar, but as an overall film, I preferred the Braff version.
You should be happy Guy. Another F***mega-star failled.
Schadenfreude isn’t really my thing, Faceit — Although I never liked the look of the film, given that I think Will Smith is one of the few true movie stars out there, I take no pleasure in his misfortune.
I’m more disappointed for Muccino, though. What a horrible career trajectory.
..is one of the few true movie star…I know you dont consider Pitt and Jolie “true stars”. they have too much power, didnt they?
I have no idea what you’re trying to say about me.
I think Brad Pitt is a terrific movie star. Angelina Jolie doesn’t do much for me. It’s all subjective. All I’m saying is that I don’t maliciously enjoy seeing stars fail.
“one of the few” implies he thinks there are more than one. Am I missing something?
