Election jibber jabber

Have at it in this space.  Though I have to say, I’m terribly frustrated with the conservative coverage of CNN.  I understand the networks dropped the ball eight years ago, but Wolf and company are calling states 30 and 45 minutes after they’ve been called elsewhere.  It’s difficult to watch something when you feel like you’re missing the news, so I’m making good use of DirecTV’s “election mix,” much like I enjoy multiple games on Sundays.  MSNBC seems to be calling stuff with a little more haste, while Fox News, believe it or not, is finding a happy medium.

Also, a friend just mentioned an important point.  How much does the choice of after-election party venue say about each respective candidate?  Seriously, a posh, comfy hotel versus a community atmosphere and braving the cold?

Regardless, Ohio and Pennsylvania pretty much makes it game over, no?

Yeah, go figure. Fox is the level-headed party tonight.

And I’ve been in that park surrounded by the same amount of people. It’s a fun time for all and speaks volumes to this man’s reach (never mind the 80,000 at the convention in August). To be fair, though, if McCain had that big a venue, do you think that many people would show up for him?

And he’s ahead in Florida, as well. I think this thing will be over within the hour.

This is a bittersweet night for me with all my choices having lost in the Puerto Rican election.

Congratulations to Senator Obama on his win tonight. I doubt he’ll be as bad as President Bush got at times, but I’m going to wait and see before I call him a success.

Nonetheless, I’m very excited that I was able to participate in such a historic election (no matter who won) and look forward to America’s next steps with President Obama.

An aside – it’s a shame that Senator McCain gives one of his best speeches at a time when it doesn’t help him, campaign-wise. And a good speech from President-elect Obama as well.
