Wow — This looks even stranger than I could’ve imagined. Looks fascinating, but I can already hear the nervous laughter and comments of “what the fuck?” when the trailer plays in theaters.
Rob summed it up pretty well, “Wow… strange… fascinating”. I’m looking forward to see this more than any other movie coming out this year.
Haunting and beautiful. The visuals are much more elaborate than what I initially anticipated. And I think Rob’s assessment of how an audience would react to it is spot on.
Alot of people have said that they wanted to see it twice before they reviewed it (slashfilm and Wired) so this leads me to believe it’s probably even more complex than we’ve come to expect from Kaufman.
Best trailer I’ve seen all year — builds expectations based on atmosphere rather than too many story hooks, which is how it should be. Can anyone tell me what that beautiful song is at the end?
looks kinda bloated…and that’s just the trailer
This is an exceptional film and the trailer is quite good. But don’t be put off by the strangeness it’s a haunting and beautiful film.
gives me the chills for some reason!
When I heard about the plot, I wasn’t terribly interested, but I do love Charlie Kaufman. Now, that I have seen the trailer I’m hooked and I can’t wait
looks like a real heart breaker for some reason. PSH looks fantastic as usual. I bet this gets a SAG nod for it’s whole Cast.
I gotta agree with Guy… might be the best trailer i’ve seen all year.
Extremely choked that I didn’t catch this at TIFF this year.
I, for one, absolutely loved it.
I’ve read the screenplay and after I’ve seen the three short clips that were released from the movie earlier this year, I was worried that Kaufman wouldn’t mine it to it’s full advantage.
Now, having seen the movie I’m convinced that Charles pulled it off. This just shot up very high on my most expected list.
Six Oscar nominated actresses? Impressive.
i didn’t think anything would overtake Button. thoroughly mind-blowing.. earth-shatteringly, profoundly good. my expectations could not be higher.
Avoiding the trailer is a good idea. It gives away some things that are best experienced in the movie itself.
Now that I saw the movie (which is mind-blowing), the trailer is truly underwhelming. But I don’t know how I would have cut a trailer for this thing…
Yup, mind-blowing is an excellent way to describe the movie, which, by the way, is one of my favorites of the year.
So the movie far outdoes the promise of that trailer, Kris? My excitement is officially going into overdrive.
Sometimes there’s a film that you just know you’ll love, whatever people say about it. I’ve felt that since the first time I heard the pitch for this.
