Well I though that as a movie, it wasn’t really that good. The storytelling was flawed, the only real fully developing character was Star, and even he was a bit 2-dimensional. Y’know, rich playboy billionaire being in love with his assistent. The cast really saved the day with their enthousiasm and sheer quality. This movie was no attempt to be anymore original than most previous entries in the comic-book genre. The villain was just lame too, allthough again, well portrayed by Daniels, but still. It was a fun ride, but nothing really more than that. All those people saying it is “brilliant” “best ever” etc. need to put down their comic-living goggles and see this as a film.

Iron Man was a great time at the movies. It wasn’t perfect but it was well done. The action scene at the end could’ve been better but everything was done well. Hat’s off to Robert Downey Jr.
I think you mean Bridges, Jonathan. But I feel you’re drift. It’s funny you should mention how derivative the film seemed, because Iron Man has always been one of those characters considered a “poor man’s Batman” and the like. A tough shell to break, but I thought it was fun nonetheless.
I saw it again tonight and want to put some of my thoughts on another go to a post tomorrow some time.
Errr, yes sorry, Bridges. Somehow it was a little confusing. I might see it again too, or leave after the new Indy trailer which was the most pleasant surprise of the day anyway.
Damn, it didn’t have that trailer here. Hopefully it’ll be with Speed Racer instead.

A great start to the summer season!
It’s a comic book movie so a shining intelligence and meaning weren’t expected. But the entertainment value was all there, it was interesting and fun and the actors did a wonderful job so hat’s off to them!
damn! I wish I had gotten The Dark Knight or the Indiana Jones trailers! I got Speed Racer (gave me a headache and no wish to see it), Hancock (seems a hoot) and The Incredible Hulk (still not convinced)

I am. And the verdict for me was: one of the year’s best so far.
“For me: The Dark Knight trailer, which on the big screen sold my thoughts on the work of Wally Pfister. Here comes Oscar nod #2.”
