Over at his indieWIRE blog The Lost Boy, Peter Knegt expresses some displeasure with what he calls a “boring” list of Academy Award presenters announced so far. So he’s compiled a list of suggestions that could spice things up on Oscar night.
For instance, what a howler it would be to see Bono and Julie Taymor, the creative minds behind the disastrous Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” (which is currently being rewritten at the last minute) present Best Original Song? Or how about notorious David O. Russell rivals George Clooney and Lily Tomlin (who is actually close friends with Russell now, it should be said) presenting the clip for “The Fighter?”
I think he’s on to something by suggesting Armie Hammer present the Best Visual Effects award with Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, but I’d tweak that a bit and say Hammer should present, via video, AS Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
Anyway, head on over to The Lost Boy to read up on Peter’s suggestions. Any ideas from the peanut gallery here?

Melissa Leo—>Melissa Leo.
Michael Cera introducing Jesse Eisenberg
Jeff Daniels talking about Jesse Eisenberg would be incredible.
And Armie Hammer definitely needs to present something. That voice should not go to waste.
How about a 20th Anniversary “Thelma and Louise” reunion. Get Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis to present one of the actress prizes!
I love the Armie Hammer idea, but only if he is playing the Winklevi. The actual Winklevi can watch at home.
How about Richard Gere talking about Jesse Eisenberg? They did work together in “The Hunting Party” back in 2007.
Leo Dicaprio & Christian Bale presenting “inception” clip because it would be the one&only time we could see together
Fred Durst for Jesse Eisenberg
Meg Ryan for Mark Ruffalo(they worked together in “in the cut”)
Every one for Melissa Leo because she worked with every one
Russel Crowe & Denzel Washington or RDN& Will Smith for “the fighter” clip
Michael Caine or Barbara Hershey for Bale
Anne Hathaway announcing presenters Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry, who present Best Animated Feature.
I’d love to see Mark Zuckerberg introduce Jesse Eisenberg. That would be absolutely crazy!!!
Jackass crew presents Best Costume Design in jock straps and bow ties.
A category that film should be nominated in, I’d add.
