When I was planning to pre-order it, Amazon listed it as temporarily out of stock. Holy shit. Got it at Best Buy, where there were tons of of copies of the blu-ray. Either Best Buy anticipated huge sales or that’s indicative of the people who shop at my local Best Buy #smh

Oh, man… I need to get my Blu-Ray NOW! My birthday was on Tuesday, it’s release day, and to my horror, nobody thought to get it for me.
I think my wife told me to hold out on getting TSN Blu, says she will get that for me along with Criterion’s Blu of Fish Tank for Valentine’s Day… tough to wait.
Kris, curious how The Neverending Story is on Blu, I loved that movie as a kid during HBO viewing, but not sure how it holds up…

Can I just say, LOVE Labyrinth & The Dark Crystal.
Oh, my childhood days watching these on VHS over and over and over.

Well I think it fits in perfectly don’t all four films have fantastical villains? lol. Yeah I pretty ordered 83rd Best Picture on Best Buy last week got that bad boy in on Tues. Very excited to dive into the commentaries.
@Mike_M I’ve yet to see TNE blu-ray but I feel it might be more nostalgic than holding up as a fantasy classic.

I’m sorry but my first reaction to this was – did Kris put “The Neverending Story” in his Amazon shopping cart? And then followed by me immediately going to Amazon to order that movie used on DVD (god I love those cheesy 80’s fantasy films so much!)
I guess there is a connection between the two films….LOL

I think it’s that a hefty portion of people who love The Social Network are in the 25-35 yr. old range. And that is when Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and other wonderfully cheesy 80’s kid flicks were watched by those of us in that age range. I don’t think that sentence made sense, but hopefully you get me. haha
@Bill Melidoneas hahaha, I have a feeling you are right

Obviously it’s The Dark Crystal since The Social Network and Labyrynth featured music by well known musicians as well as starring well known musicians.

Incidentally, my local Best Buy was completely sold out of The Social Network Blu Rays today. Curious to see how many units it moves this week.
