• The One Where You’re Going Insane Waiting Around For The Crazy Thing To Happen, Then It Happens

• The Super-Loony One, Holy Shit, Was That Fucking Nutballs Or What?

• The Shattering Little One That Everyone’s Already Forgotten About, Which I’ll Probably Replace With True Grit When I Finally See It

• The One With A Bunch Of Authentic-Feeling Regional Stereotypes

• The Other One With A Bunch Of Authentic-Feeling Regional Stereotypes

• The One That Kind Of Bombed But I’m Including Anyway Because It Was So Much Fun

    Robert,

Until someone with knowledge and authority (unlike yourself) gives us the answers, then what do you think people are gonna do? That’s right, they’re gonna keep guessing and most likely, they’ll come up with the same answers as you did. You’re not the only one who likes games and movies you know.

i think 4 is a more literal play on words and it’s shutter island as opposed to black swan

i think winter’s bone is 7 because it is the smallest and the earliest and 8 and 9 are the same regional stereotypes, not different ones

18-Shutter Island is by no means a little film, as it was one of the highest grossing films at 2010’s first quarter. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is on Netflix instant play, so that is definitely not the answer.

are we really supposed to take this list seriously? or is he just listing the streotypical movies that make up every best-of list, thus being applicable to any other year?
    just sayin’

  30. Fitz Avatar

I assumed 3 was 127 Hours and 4 was Black Swan like everyone else. Maybe I’m dumb but could 6 have been Catfish?

  31. MattD Avatar

Call me crazy, but isn’t that photo from Toy Story 2, not 3? I thought Woody specifically mentions at the beginning of the third film that they’ve lost Wheezy and Bo-Peep along the way, thus why they don’t appear over the next 2 hours…

  32. Robert Hamer Avatar

Lenny, if you came up with answers that were completely different from mine or Maxim’s, you would have made sense. But you didn’t. The only unique answer you gave was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for #11, but why did you (and others, to be fair) also post what everyone else had figured out already?

And let’s say “someone with knowledge and authority” gives us the answers and you got them right. What, you’re gonna brag about it? Giving roughly the same answers as everyone else, give or take the last one?

I’ll bet you said “I was gonna say that, too!” to your teachers in elementary school, huh?

@ Joseph — As a matter of fact, I *do* find the lockstep similarities of Oscar predictions to be annoying, and I guarantee you I’m not alone in that opinion.

  33. Lenny Avatar
    Lenny

    Robert,

First of all, Maxim only offered part of a list. If you took the time to look, you would’ve noticed that.

Secondly, it’s fairly obvious what some of those titles are, which makes it logical that many people will have the same answers as you. It’s also possible that others will come up with the same list you did as well. But seeing as you think you’re the only one who knows the answers, it’s wrong for someone else to have the same list as you.

Thirdly, I don’t give a shit if I got it right or not. I was just having fun. Clearly, you take this game (and life, for that matter) a little too seriously. Why else would you get so defensive over your list that, quite frankly, no one cares about? You are not an authority on film, which means you are in no position to insult me or my list.

Fourthly, and I’m repeating what I said to you earlier in these posts, have a happy holidays asshole.

  34. Robert Hamer Avatar

Should I be surprised that you think I’m “taking life too seriously” instead of simply being amused at the whole thing? Far from being “defensive,” (a funny accusation coming from you) I thought your late-to-the-party answers and your hissy attitude was pretty hilarious. Thanks for the holiday wishes, though.

Robert, what’s it to you what Lenny posted? Had it ever occured to you that he might not have even looked at other responses but just came up with his won list for fun? Is that really so bad that he spent a minute doing the very same thing you’ve done?

Do you really think that yours, mine or anybody else’s answers were really so astonishigly clever that he couldn’t have come up with them himself?

And your elementary school jab really does paint you as being defensive since you are the only one who would go thinking there’s brownie points to be earned on the Internet.
