Yeah, I saw this trailer before “Burn After Reading” and it sure does look interesting! I’ll probably see it, and I trust Oliver Stone in delivering a well crafted, intelligent film.

Oh woops! I realized it’s not the same one… the one I saw at the theaters consisted of lots of flashing letters and quick cuts. This is NEW new.
I’m still really nervous about this film, but I have to hand it to them — they are doing a terrific marketing job here.
However it turns out, I’m more interested in this than I am in “Frost/Nixon.”

Thankfully this looks more like Nixon than World Trade Center, after all. There’s also a lot of stuff here that wasn’t in Weiser’s original script, the one Kris has been wringing his hands over.
If nothing else, the film’s marketing has been first-rate so far.
I think it’s definitely better than the old trailer.Just for controversy sake alone I will probably see this movie. Also to see the various actors who are playing his staff.

2 Questions:
Why is it suddenly hip to use the “Talking Heads” song “Once in a Lifetime” for the trailers of political films (previously being used in the “Charlie Wilson’s War” trailer)? Will it replace “For What It’s Worth” as the song to use during political film trailers?
2. I saw a different trailer for “W.” before “Burn After Reading”, which featured the song “Amazing Grace”. Why hasn’t that trailer been released yet?

I think this may be a sleeper hit. I can see a lot of Bush-backers seeing it just in case they need ammunition if the film goes more caricature than character as well as Bush-haters just to get an amusing look at the president. It could really sneak up on us.
As for Oscars… Stone’s got a good reputation with his political films (“Nixon” and “JFK” are both spectacular, as well as Oscar nominated), so I’m hedging my bet on “W.” popping up in a category or two (I’m thinking screenplay and supporting actress for Banks, maybe a lead nod for Brolin).
All I know for sure is that I’m starting to really, REALLY look forward to seeing this.

I think this trailer looks great, and can’t beat a little Talking Heads as the music…
This makes me very excited for those, Brolin looks and sounds good and I am excited to see Banks and Burstyn in their roles.
