I’m taking a serious vacation for the next four days. Minimal updates if any. I know, scandalous. A blogger taking the risk of losing traffic by ducking out for more than 24 hours. WTF?? But you know what? I deserve it. And you do too.
So go do what makes you happy and enjoy Thanksgiving. Not to get all corny, but I’m certainly thankful for the spike in interest this year and hope that readers new and old are getting something out of our little contribution. And I’m more than thankful to my modest staff of writers, doing what we can to keep you interested in the mundane particulars that inspire us to write. So thanks to Gerard, John, Guy, Brian and Blake.
We’ll reconvene next week. For now, I’m off to San Francisco for some much needed anti-L.A. time, so be safe, be merry, pop in “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” and soak it up. The Oscar crush is coming.

Bless you. Being British I don’t really understand this Thanksgiving malarkey (I’ll take Wendy from the Adams Family’s explaination). But enjoy your break. I have to say this is definetely amongst the most fun oscar blogs on the web. You’re always facinating to read, but then you always were.

Thank you for all you do. I read this site religiously and have for a few years now but rarely post and I plan to change that. There are so many great threads and the people that contribute and participate are all for the most pat simply film lovers which keeps the integrity of this site at such an intelligent level. You gotta love that. Keep up that great work as I look forward to every post made by you and the rest of the gang… such insight and relative information to relay and discuss which only helps to feed my passion for this crazy industry that we all love so much. Kris, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’ve been a fan since the Oscar Central days (a couple years after I started watching the Oscars religiously). And just from reading your reviews and the other articles over the years (but specifically the past two or three), I’ve learned more about film here than I ever did in film school. It’s weird to think that most people don’t even get to direct a movie until they’re twice my age (though there are a few lucky young filmmakers out there), but either way, thanks for helping build on the foundation of my understanding of this bizarre and beautiful art in which we all invest so much.
