A little something to get you in the spirit. (Remember Christina Ricci’s cool days? I miss those.)
No holiday for me, of course — lousy unthankful non-American that I am. So I’ll be holding fort around here for the next few days, while Kris takes a well-deserved breather. It’ll be quieter than usual, but feel free to keep me company.

Great scene.
I loved Ricci in Buffalo ’66. Awesome film in general.
I was seriously in love with Ricci after seeing Casper for the first time. She was so gorgeous.
Christina Ricci is awesome. She needs a great role.
“Buffalo ’66” is an excellent film, regardless of what you think of Gallo. And it is a source of confusion for me that the Supporting Actress lineup in ’97 was so awful (Basinger? Stuart? wtf?) when they could have nominated Ricci, Allen and Weaver from “The Ice Storm” and had it be the best lineup of the decade by default.
Thank you, Slayton. The Academy’s shut-out of “The Ice Storm” in general still boggles the mind — easily the best film of 1997, for me.
I mean, would it have killed them to toss it a screenplay nod, at least? Madness.
Oh God. I just saw The Ice Storm for the first time recently. Ricci was awesome, but I never want to enter that world again.
