Thirteen year-old BRANDON WALTERS (Nullah) was discovered by director Baz Luhrmann through a nationwide casting search for a young Aboriginal boy to play the crucial supporting role. After Walters participated in a series of workshops with the director at Fox Studios Australia, Luhrmann traveled to the aspiring young actor’s hometown of Broome, in Western Australia. With the blessing of the boy’s family, Luhrmann offered him the part.
This is Walters’ film debut. Walters, who grew up in a remote West Australian town and survived leukaemia at age seven, has already foreshadowed a career in showbiz, saying he was keen to visit the US. “It’s my dream to go to America. I have to wait and see,” he said.

I have never been so emamoured by a child star. Not only does he have a beautiful face but for me he has a beautiful soul which reached through the screen deep into the hearts of my huband and I. We truly hope he has a wonderful future.

I think Brandon Walters got to be the most adorable kid I ever seen grace the silver screen! He did such a great job in Australia! So guys, don’t muck about, ha ha you got to agree with me!
Yep as a man I couldnt agree more that Brandon is without doubt a real cutie and sure to break many girls hearts in the future…I just pray we get to see him back on the silver screen very soon.Having said this I am also aware that he really needs to get a very good education under his belt as the film industry is fickle and a second string to his bow might come in very handy during the dry spells, stick with it Brandon you have a great fan base and we are waiting on you, God bless you.
